Why not chase Cherry-Evans?

He wants out of Manly and would be a perfect long-term fit for us on a five-year contract.

Would love to have a high-quality halfback to guide us around the park.

Would be worth 450K I reckon and worth every penny.

Time to bite the bullet and buy a real halfback.

He'll be asking for 800k

and he'd be worth that too.

We have Lote and Ellis gone for next year, that'd go close to freeing up enough coin to get him.

The cap this year is $4.4m for top 25.
Could be wrong...but I don't think anyone would be on 800K across the whole competition.

I would imagine
Benji 450K
Robbie 400K
Ellis 400K

He's still under contract for next year, I cant see Manly letting him go. Would love to see him in Tigers colours but cant see it happening unfortunately.

A high quality halfback at WT under a team coached and shaped by the great one? the master coach? The wonderous one?

Bit your toungue and line up for the lobodomy with the rest of us to remain quiet and compliant to his grand plan.

Seriously though- a great thought, especially if WT have the coin to make a respectable offer but I doubt Manly will release him for 2013 and I suspect, taking into account Sheens record with halfbacks, his manager would recommend coming to WT whilst Sheens is there.

More likely to see the promotion of Miller or return of Marshall to half and bringing on an existing 5/8 than see a new halfback. Speedier wingers that can kick or quality front rowers will probably be a stronger attraction.

Maybe Sheens would change his plans with a quality halfback in the team, maybe not. Who knows?

Cooper Cronks market value is being reported at 800k a season, purely because the number of halfbacks available is lower than ever and to have 2 test halves on the market seemingly at the same time would mean both these players could practically write their own cheques.

Look at what Dugan recently signed for. Sandow ffs is half as good as Evans and Cronk and look what Parra paid for him.

800k is closer to the mark than 400k.

We should throw everything we have at him.

With Ellis going, Lote and Moltzen off contract, we should have enough to make a bid.

We need a halfback.

Marshall won't let your board cut Timmy, would he? You all saw how upset he was last year.

And don't forget you will owe Blair another $500K for next year.

DCE's looks like some player but he could get injured. He could lose a yard of pace. Basically he might not stay consistently good.

DCE + Sika Manu to replace Ellis.

Ellis, Lote gone would free up huge coin. Piss Moltzen off, he wouldn't be on peanuts. I would also release Heigno to England if possible.

1. Tedesco
2. Ryan
3. Ayshford
4. Lawrence
5. Koroibete
6. Marshall
7. Cherry-Evans
8. Woods
9. Farah
10. Galloway
11. Manu
12. Blair
13. Fulton

14. Humble
15. Murdoch-Masila
16. Groat
17. Bell

Very imposing side. Wouldn't be many out there that could beat it.

Pipe dreams though. We don't know for certain how many contracts are backloaded, third party etc.

B Ryan more than deserves his spot these days. Has done since the 2nd half of last season. Dont want to see him go.
Ellis and Tuquiri for Cherry Evans is definately a great swap. Id take that any day

Manu may be a possibility. But can't see Sheens going for DCE. He will blindly persist with Moltzen.

After all he did play John Morris at halfback for three years.

More chance getting Brett Stewart before dce.
They will be letting go of plenty at the end of the year to keep this kid.
