Its easy to make the same misunderstood errors that most dills make. We are eternally greatful for Stuart, Carty and Pay giving us 2002's success. Stuart will always be a part of that and will be always remembered and thanked. But the reason he was sacked was for the past 2 years of eroding the players. The current state we are in is 2 years in the making. I wouldnt expect someone that knows little of these things, like yourself, to understand. Hopefully you can shut it for a minute and learn something....but I doubt you can.

I believe a coach has a couple of years maybe 3 at one club before a change is required. Bennett's the exception but he has a whole state and International team to choose from....always did.

Thats why Brown will never bring you anything....he's A) Getting towards his use by date at the Dragons, and B) He;s too much "One of the boys".

We are grateful for Stuart's effort in 2002, 03, and then he started losing it in 04 with his selections and bench use, retention policies etc....he helped win us our first Premiership in ages....but also helped us lose the next 2 with the best squads you'll see for a decade.

Your team suffered from a lack of heart, not lack of retention. You bought Anasta, Pierce, Lewis, Harrison, Nutley, Myles to replace Fittler, Finch, Morely, Cusak, Crocker and Cayless. You had Soward come through and you also had that big Samoan guy who went well in the last ANZAC clash we belted you in, as well as a couple of other younger kids you bought from someone elses junior base. You also added Amos Roberts to your ranks.

Your coach/club retention had no bearing on the failings of 2005/06 - It was purely the fact that your club has no heart or soul to speak of; Players move in to Bondi for the money, and don't want to play - I wouldn't either if I was getting the money Anasta is to sip latte's and snooze on Maroubra beach.

To add to my post: Stuart is a good coach in terms of preparation and training. His efforts fell on players who simply didn't give a sh*t. Your club punted him because he wasn't able to squeeze blood (Or in this case sweat) from stones.

We bought shi'te because we let go players we didnt have to...it was ALL retention policy. We didnt retain the right people. AND Stuart was part of making those calls too. He isnt there tomorrow. Neither is Ryles...which is a shame because we could have used him....LOL. You are one spot above us, we are about to turn things around, and a belting of your team is not out of the question and youre carrying on like you have it in the bag. You idiot, I've been watching Soward since 2003 and hoping Saints would pick the kid up. Shame you did because his talent is going to waste, especially since he had to 'fit' with the ego of Finch and have distribution from a washed up hooker in Wing.

Soward had no forward pack giving him room all year. He was moved from his native 5/8 to 1/2, FB and even played from the bench. All because of Finch.

Stuart might not have given him the best opportunities, granted, but his teammates sure as hell didn't give him any platform to work off.
