Will Anthony Griffin coach in the NRL again?

Today, respected Brisbane Bronco's mentor Anthony Griffin was sacked in favour of Wayne Bennett, former Broncos coach & current Newcastle Knights coach. Despite failing to guide the Broncos to the finals last year for just the second time in their history, Griffin is held in high esteem in most Rugby League spheres. Griffin is one of the games lower profile coaches, in fact until last year I did not know who he was. However, he is now the games hottest off-contract profiles. So this begs the question, where to now for Anthony Griffin? Is there a possibility he will be lost to the game?

I believe not. There are plenty of desperate clubs who would see an attraction in Griffin. He has a good record (55% winning rate) and has the ability to lure stars to a club (Barba & Milford - Noted that Barba is grossly under-performing).

However, there is certainly a possibility that Griffin will join the host of 1 hit wonder coaches who have vanished into oblivion after short stints as an NRL coach.

Henjak, Moore, Rick Stone & even Daniel Anderson spring to mind.

Whilst all our attention will be concentrated upon the post-Bennett era at the Knights and the reinvigorated Bennett era at the Broncos, tracking Griffin's movements will be very interesting. With several clubs looking for new coaches at this stage, I expect Griffin to be a wanted man.

I don't know about coaching in the NRL... But he brought through a talented group of kids at the Broncos.

He obviously has connections in QLD... If I was an NRL club I'd definitely look at him in some sort of head scout/recruitment officer in Qld.

He's not that bad and should get a shot somewhere else. Not sure there are many vacancies though. SL maybe?

Mate Matty Elliott got another shot. There is no certainties when it comes to desperate clubs!

According to the Melbourne Storm Salary cap book he scouted/recruited the big 3 for Melbourne.

He's had plenty of success in the lower grades, no shame in going back to coaching QLD Cup.

He will coach in the NRL again for sure.

I'm sure Raiders fans would kill for Griffin as coach.

bit of a stretch to say Barba and Milford going to the Broncos had much to do with Griffin being coach

He will likely end up as an assistant somewhere, but who cares

Would probably need a really successful stint in Superleague or to fall in behind a coach like Ricky who will inevitably be sacked

I think he will go the way of Jason Taylor, had a strong first year and struggles thereafter but will be around coaching circles as an assistant with a good reputation

A bit like Ricky Stuart, Matt Elliott's personality and some media experience probably have him an edge in selling himself as more than he is. Griffin sorely lacks a personality
