If they get their shit together and get a couple more wins away from home I think they are the smokies for sure.

Cowboys knotched up a couple of important away victories and have the talent to give the competition a fair shake, but I'm not holding my breath but I think they will make the 8, They could finish as low as 5 or 6 if they pull a few games together now.

if they can string a run together now, with every other team bar Manly falling away, they will make top 4 easily

I think it will come down to the last round agaisnt Manly. They better hope Manly have their eyes on the finals or other results go their way if they lose.

30 points is going to be the cut-off for the 8 this year imo. Win their home games they should scrape in.

Top 8 easy.

At this stage it's hard to see Manly, Panthers, Storm, Roosters, Souths, Cowboys missing out. 2 spots left for the following 6 teams.

Absolutely, now that they've figured out how to win in Sydney. They could even push for a top 4 spot, given Penrith's injury woes and the Dogs and Roosters shit form, if they can get on a run, which they certainly are capable of. Frankly, top 4 is where they should be based on the talent in the team.

Edit: their run home is:

Tits home (should be a gimme)
Tigpies home (likewise given the Tigpies injuries)
Penrith away (definitely winnable given their injuries)
Souffs away (tough one given Souffs appear to have fired up finally, will tell a lot about where the Cows are at)
Cronulla home (another gimme)
Manly home (could be easier than it appears if Manly already have the MP sewn up by then)

Both of your gimme teams have beaten top 4 sides in the past few weeks. Maybe they thought it was a gimme too. There are no gimmes.

The Panthers have only lost 1 game all year at Penrith. They beat a full strength Bulldogs last night with a 1 man bench. I wouldn't bank those 2 points just yet, either.

Cowboys at home shoupd be far too good for both the Tits and Tigpies. They have the opportunity to mount a serious challenge, if they want to. It's up to them whether they decide to aim up. As for he Penrith game, you can't deny the Cows have a much better chance with Taylor, Peachey, Wallace, and a bunch of backup halves gone. If Penrith were full strength, I wouldn't give the Cows much hope, but as it is, I stand by my descriptiin of the game as "winnable" for the Cows.
