Will this signal a new beginning?

I read in today's Herald that NIB Chief Allan Fitzgibbon has accepted the Knights invitation to join the Board to replace Michael Hill. Good stuff!

I think this is a great move towards the future. Fitzgibbon doesnt sit on his butt - during his time at NIB he introduced a number of changes and also discarded a lot of dead wood in upper Management positions at NIB. I know its a diferent thing being on a Board as opposed to being a CEO but hopefully he may make the rest of the Board realise they need a new and professional CEO to replace Ken Conway.

Fitzgibbon also has a lot of experience in the Club industry and has a lot of business savvy which will be welcome on the Board. It also said he is all for a merger / involvement of Wests Leagues club

In other great news I read that the Newcastle Permanent have sponsored a new Huge Replay Screen for the Knights to be a permanent fixture (pardon the pun). Although I thought this cost would have been included in the $32M Stadium Upgrade, rather than relied on the charity of the Perm.

The good news about this is that the Knights used to have to pay $12,000 PER GAME for renting the NRL screens and production crew. This will now SAVE THE KNIGHTS $144,000 per season. That will pay for a trainer and physiotherapist. This new screen starts from next home game - Roosters in just 10 days time. Yippee!

Things are starting to look up. I just hope Crowey and Chief can work some miracles in the recruitment department. I also read today that pink elephant Reynoldson was signed for three years at that ridiculously high sum. Makes the people involved with his contract Conway and Sarge even more culpable. Grrrrrrrrrhhhhh

That's some good news. Aside from another pedestrian looking side for this round, we've had a fairly decent week. Joey's ok. Found ourselves a sponsor, will get a half decent big screen....

Could it be? Things are looking up....

*Don't jinx it*

The screen will be ready for the next home game apparently.

News has just through that Billy Pedan was fiddling the controls on the new screen and it has now gone on the blink!!!

He was following a plan left by Scott Campbell.
