even if they aren't the real deal, its not like people will remember. There was talk that roosters weren't the real premiers in 2002 but who says that now except maybe Bulldogs fans.

Who's to say that EVEN if storm were able to play that they'd win it. The most consistent team throughout the season doesn't necessarily win it in the end ( Parra 01, Dragons 09). Bulldogs might not have won it in 2002 as being minor premiers does not guarantee winning the grandfinal.

In saying that, why do people find it so hard to comprehend that Melbourne Storm have an illegally assembled team. No win of theirs over the past few years was legit and they've been the real pretenders. Everyone should stop using them as a benchmark because you cant really compare a team so over the cap to the other 15 NRL teams.

If my team wins i will not spare a thought for Melbourne other than the fact that we could have been premiers last year had they not cheated and had an illegally assembled team. That is the only time i think about that scummy grub of a team.

of course the winners are going to be the real deal (storm shouldn't have rorted the cap)

i thought for a moment this thread was going to be about how most of the teams this year have been awful. in which case they'd be premiers, but would be spanked by premiership winning teams of yesteryear

of course they team who win this years comp are the real deal.

On form melbourne woud be lucky to make it past week 1. Melbourne are the biggest pretenders rugby league has ever seen.

As far as I'm concerned, anything that any Melbourne player or the club in general has achieved over the last 5 years is a sham. Bar rep footy ofcourse.

Yes they have good players, but there players wouldn't be that good if they were forced to play with average players around them.

Imagine cronk playing at cronulla (where he would pass it to no one), or slater playing behind Mortimer and Robson (who lack attaacking flair)

Either way, who ever wins the comp deserves it 100%.

storm were pretenders as they had an over the cap side- Giddy Up Gallop And Go(GUGAG) has a lot of explaining in why the storm is allowed to still field this team week in week out with this possibly putting a team or teams out of finals contention as a result especially in these last 5 crucial weeks. The storm play 3 teams in contention in their last 5 games Manly, Souths, and Wests Tigers.

He(GUGAG) should have made the storm field a team to the cap limit with the other players having to play the year out in the storms reserve grade side.

I would say though there could be a Stephen Bradbury premier like in 2005/2006 and almost in 2009 if Parramatta Had won.
