Manly I would say go into their game against the Cowpats as favourites and anyone would view them as certs to make the grand final

However, in the other game we WILL see Parramatta end the Melbourne Storm's season in front of their dopey fans.

Devoid of a RL culture, a couple of JJ Giltinan Shield's will provide some second rate confection for them as 'minor' premiers, but when there's something more hearty that you sink your teeth in to, grand finals are for the real deal baby.

That will leave a Manly vs Parramatta grand final.

One can only think of the early 80's and the Tooheys ads back then...

"Here's we go again, it's Manly and Parra, parra's in front but the gap's getting narra"

followed by

"I feel like a Toohey's, I feel like a Toohey's, I feel like a Toohey's or two"

Would getting Tooheys on board to bring back this nostalgia be good for the game?

I'd say it's pretty possible that Tooheys could run this ad during GF week. It'd get people talking, if nothing else.

Carlton has the official beer, but that wouldnt stop tooheys ambusing GF week with adds on any network.

Tooheys buys a lot of space in the telecrap during origin time promoting the beer and blues and they are no longer the official beer.

The Calton and United sponsorship is likely to be more of an issue than Bundaberg Rum.
