Taking a sponsors car without a license? :-s wtf?

I will tell you the story (which gives an indication to what the media is really like).

I was overseas and use to read the Tele online just about every day. Now it was in February. There was a test match being played involving Australia. The Super 14s were about to start and as I got to the Sport section guess what was the backpage headline ? Story about Willie Mason who was driving a car provided by a sponsor without a license. I think it was the start of 2006....

When you win a premiership, Clive Churchill medal, Play for Australia, Play for NSW, play in a world club challenge final then we might take you serious... Same with Williams! Mason has done all that and can put that Williams (Joke) in his place, Anasta has also played for Australia, NSW, Won a Premiership and played over 100 first grade games... Williams and anyone who sicks up for him need to look at themselves!

Which gives him the right to catch a taxi home, and not pay the fare? Gives him the right to humiliate a 2gb news reporter in front of all his mates, forcing her into tears? It also gives him the right to use an illicit social drug, then be fined $25 000? Gives him the right to forge another player's signature at an autograph event??

I don't understand where your coming from. 2 wrongs don't make a right. It's like the blind leading the blind here. Willie Mason needs to learn respect himself, before he is to tell others to go learn some. You my friend, are just a biased Canterbury fan, so I won't take you seriously from now on in....

Where did Mason give Williams a lecture about anything outside of football like you have mentioned ?

You are obviously a goose so I won't take you seriously from now on ;-)

Anyone who is a bit of a clubber/pubber who hits venues like Tank, Coogee Bay, Cargo, Empire, Bristol Arms etc will often see players on the piss. You'll see a joe blow trip on the stairs or spill a drink and it's 'meh'. You see a player do it and it's a 'drunken rampage'.

Personally i think it's a disgrace how the media blows the simplest of things up when it involves a sporting personality.

It's akin to how celebrity magazines will take a photo of Angelina Jolie with the sun in her eyes, hence striking an angry looking squinting pose, and slam a headline next to the photo 'Angelinas FURY - is BRAD CHEATING?'

People who get a kick out of reading some sh*t the media dishes up really have no life.

The guys (Williams) has talent but he needs to put his head down and prove he isn't a big mouth nobody... He put pressure on himself and team mates with his words and Anasta like the champion he is made him eat those words.

Anasta is not a champions arse hole..he is an overrated lock forward whose ego is far bigger than his actual ability.

Agreed.
I have been to the Empire, and Coogee bay and seen my fair share of "incidents" involving players. Some players have incidents covered up...others dont.

Young Richie Williams probably just needs to have his trip across the tasman to play the warriors.

Win, Lose or Draw... apparently once youve done that trip you realise how tough this league is.

if he starts mouthing off at any of the Warriors forwards then he might end up going home in a bodybag....

Williams is a loudmouth showboat, who showed no respect to preston campbell in his first game (pointing and laughing at presto while williams scored a try) and his shortcomings have slowly been revealed in the remaining rounds..good onya willie and anasta for voicing my thoughts ;-)

Slow down sunshine! If you don't agree that his a champion, does that make me an arse hole? Is that the Good old inbred mentality in the Shire? My way or the highway?

His won a premiership, that's one more premiership in his 6 or so year career to date then your club has ever won in First Grade:lol: ... His a champion, you just wouldn't know one when you see one, NO ONE associated with Cronulla would:lol:

LOL I won't take you serious because you are completely veering away from the topic... Mason has done it all in RL he can talk... Williams CANNOT, he has done sweet f**k all! We are talking about mouthing off in RL; we are not talking about a person PRIVATE life!

You guys are all so funny... You criticise Mason for his off field behaviour YET non of you are perfect, the hypocrisy from all of you, 2GB, News limited and co. is unbelievable. No worries mate I never took you serious, your complete hatred of Mason and the Bulldogs is there for all too see.

LF is spot on in the sense that Willie has the success behind him -

- Premiership at club level
- Represented region, state and country, success on all three levels.

Williams -

- mouthed off at a nuffy (Anasta)
- got owned by a nuffy (Anasta)
- dropped to reserve grade.

Get the drift?

Mason givng advice on respect, you couldn't make it up! What next, Mason for Australia captain? Oh hang on........

I was always under the impression top class RL was the most physically demanding game in the world. Obviously not given the amount of time these players seem to spend drinking in bars.

The papers never used to report on it. Perth Red - perhaps you ought to learn to take Newspapers with a grain of salt?
