RUNAWAY Bulldogs star Sonny Bill Williams is set to break his silence on why he walked out on the NRL club.
The 23-year-old has avoided speaking publicly since flying out of Sydney late last month but has been confirmed to appear on the Nine Network's rugby league Footy Show on Thursday night.
Williams has signed a one-year deal with French rugby club Toulon despite ongoing legal action by the NRL and Bulldogs, who are seeking an injunction to stop the New Zealand international from playing outside the NRL.
The interview will air just hours before the New South Wales Supreme Court hears an application by the Bulldogs for an injunction against Williams' plan to play in France.
Williams has reportedly been served a summons via text message to appear at the hearing, with papers also sent to several addresses, including to the Toulon Rugby Union Club.
In a press release, the Nine Network said: "Williams answers all the big questions in this wide-ranging interview and drops a number of bombshells along the way."
French rugby club Toulon, meanwhile, has shrugged off the controversy surrounding their new star, refusing to apologise for luring the Kiwi back-rower, who was only into his first year of a five-year deal with the Dogs when he skipped town.
"His departure from Australia to play rugby union has caused a lot of ink to flow, sold a lot of papers and allowed a lot of Australian supporters to release their pent-up frustrations by mail but the facts are there - Sonny Bill Williams is well and truly a Toulon player for the 2008/09 season (with an option of one year), Toulon said in a statement.
