I thought willy captured back some respect in his last yr at the cows. Don't care either way regarding his signing. I just know sk won't take no crap. And these Hindy comments r making baby Jesus cry

I love Hindy but i agree with Poupou. Hindy earns more than his worth.Yes he makes a lot of tackles but for the money he would be on i think you could get a lot better player.
Hindy's running game is not NRL standards anymore. Its actualy extremely poor. His tackles arent exactly hard either there a lot but not hard.He does scramble well thou and make some try savers. He gives his all and im happy for him to be part of our team as long as he wants. But YES i think $$ wise we could get a better player for what he would probably make.....

if hindy was able to play in a wheel chair i would still have him in the team and he would most likley save a hundred tries as well
if hindy becomes wheelchair-bound, we should make him our new mascot - the parraplegic eel

and if he ever loses his arms and legs, we should still make him our new mascot - the parramatta amputeel

and if he somehow becomes deaf, dumb and blind, he'll enjoy a long career in rugby league commentary

hindy has earned the right to play for the eels as long as he wants end of story
enjoy it while you can people because the one club player is a dying breed not many left

Wrong!! nobody had the Right. You play until you can Skillfully compete. What makes Wayne Bennet a great coach is because he makes the hard decisons and he would have taped Hindmarsh on the shoulder by now telling him that this would be his last year.

Maroubra eel your a peanut....Hindy would be on a very decent package. He last signed a 3 or 4 year deal.I think as a person he earns that for what he does for the club but on field performance you would probably get better bang for your buck elsewhere.

Just admit you have no idea how his contract is structured or how much he is on next year.
Otherwise just tell us smartarse.

I wouldn't be able to look at Hindmarsh in the eye and tell him he isn't good enough anymore (especially seeing as I don't believe it). He means more to the club then a mid field second rower, the number 11 jersey or a captain.

He stays as long as he decides to. Trust him, he will hang it up when the time is right.

Hindmarsh deserves to leave on his own terms.
He has given his heart and soul to this club, for more than a decade.

He will know when the time is right to hang up the boots, and until he decides that time is right - he will stay.

The things he does for this club, and the influence that he has on younger players is phenomenal. The longer he stays around, the better off our club will be.

I can't believe this argument is even up for debate.
What concerns me, is that there's a real possibilty that those in power are having the same thoughts that some of these tools in the forums have.
If they shop Hindy around or tap him on the shoulder and he winds up at the bulldogs or anywhere for that matter, I'll seriously contemplate giving up on Parra. That will be the last straw.

Hindy will get the tap I on the shoulder this year I expect as will Lukey.

Good coaches make the hard decisions at the right time.

but sometimes these decisions get made for you. Andrew Ryan didn't want to go and Nathan Cayless didn't want to retire, but they had decisions made for them.

Who?
Shaun Fensom?
Jeremy Smith?
Tony Williams?
Ben Creagh?

I wouldn't hesitate at picking Hindy above them any day of the week, and twice on Sundays

Hindy is a talismanic leader
His presence on the field is second to only maybe Lockyer
He demands the respect of his teammates, and the opposition (except ennis - grub)

Obviously you fairies in forumland only look at the stats. Ohh running metres, Ohh hitups. FFS. Watch a game of footy for once and watch his work off the ball.... Watch his positioning. Watch the way he moves on the field. Watch the way he cleans up at the back. OPEN YOUR EYES.

Hindmarsh is a legend. Hindmarsh IS Parramatta. Topic over.

Guys, Hindy is much much more than making alot of tackles.

He basically blocks the ruck.

He is a master at slowing the opposition play the ball without being penalized and anything coming back at the ruck, he'll stop.

He is awesome against big opposition frontrowers ala Petero. He always more or less shuts Petero down. Watch the replays and you'll see these one on one tackles which basically shuts down big Petero.

I suggest that SK puts Hindy on the bench for some time and then watch the ruck area and how it will be easily exploited by the opposition.

Then get someone to learn from Hindy to take over. The hard part is the drive and motivation to keep on going and to keep on doing that.

I totally agree that his running game has been below average for the past 3 years and I wouldn't even let hindy ruck out unless we allow him to play 2nd phase.

Because of his strength, he has a very very good offloading capability. This is negated when we play one out.

I still think he adds a tremendous amount of value to the team.

The question is, who will be the one who will take over when he goes

Both edge forwards, so not really comparable to Hindy - he plays a different position.

Though I'm sure Creagh could play in the middle quite well.

Wow. You can't handle it when people have a different opinion to you!

lol

I think the other name you threw up was Ashley Harrison.

WOW

Yeah, a starting player in Queensland's all-singing, all-dancing, all-dominating Origin side.

How good's Hindy been going for the NSW Blue Deadshits?

That's your gauge?
That's how you judge your footballer's?

F**K me, you really have no idea.

Queensland could put a broomhandle packing in at lock and still beat NSW.

I tell you this: Hindmarsh could still play origin and do a better job than the "deadshits" (as you put it) in his position at the moment.
