In hindsight, they should have kept him. How did they know that Lyon was going to be a sook?
Are you suggesting we get all those GOOD young kids into first grade and SMASHED before they move on to other Clubs...???? You lot keep me amused with your blinkered views on football and life.
Saw a very good kid in Parra colours. Keating. Quick get him into first grade.. He's very good in SG Ball. Must be ready to play firsts..... Quick rush in Tim Smith. Kills them in Flegg,.. Ready for State of Origin. What about Feliti.. had a mighty game against Cronulla.. See if he is ready for TEST football.
Drop Wagon for a fresh faced kid. Get rid of all the experienced players. Bring the Jersey Flegg team up to FIRST GRADE... #-o #-o #-o #-o

I can hear the sarcasm dripping from this message, but I say WHY NOT!!! What better way to keep the current First Graders on their toes than to have these talented youngsters nipping at their heels. Its about time our grade players realised they are not the be all and end all and to pull their socks up. Granted, there are only two or three players I am catagorising here.

Only 5 of the players from the list were playing first grade football each week when they were at Parra. You can't blame them if they wanna go elsewhere. The salary cap means that we can't afford to keep 30 first grade quality footballers at our club, just the way it is. If those players stayed, then there would be others who would have left already instead.

Is that LET GO or NOT BEEN ABLE TO RETAIN UNDER THE SALARY CAP???

i don't if we would have been able to keep them all but maybe if you beloved coach stopped buying rejects from other clubs we could keep some of our own talent...

i am not saying that the juniors should be rushed into first grade because we are losing, i am saying that whenever june 30 comes around, smithy's eyes are on players from elsewhere rather then what he has right in front of him

Put em all in first grade. It will show they are not JUST up to it yet.
Steve WITT is DEFINITELY NOT A FIRST GRADER.
Rejects like John Morris, rejects like Brad Drew, Lee Hopkins, Jasen Taylor, Eric Grothe jnr, Dean Widders, ... oh I see your point..

Stevo will start shining. Just give him time. Class and talent don't go away.

Morris was not a reject; we tried to sign him for the 2001 season but Newcastle signed him first. W then snared him before the Knights had a chance to talk to him.

And Hopkins also had wraps on him from Penno. They were quite filthy we took him, actually.

But I get your point.

Thought he'd been on of our best since he came to us....as far as consistancy goes the only guy more consistant than Morris is Hindmarsh

Give Steve Witt time, He had five years at Parra and still couldn't crack it. How much time does he need. .

We don't have Brad Drew, thank god. He served his purpose and was moved on to become a bench plater with the Raiders (He should thank Brian Smith for icreasing his skill levels and in turn his pay packet..)
If you pull your head out of your backside you might notice that Dykes has assisted in more tries than any other player in the NRL this season. You are are hard task master if you consider John Morris has done sweet FA.
Everyone, Nikki, has the right to be stupid, but I think you are abusing the privilege with those comments.

It was not his fault he could not "crack it". He deserved a chance.

He's been at the Knights for a handfull of games and he has "cracked it".

He should have been given the same respect at Parra when we had tons of injuries.

Hmmm.. So that is why Drewy played a rep game last night and where was Morris???

And as for Dykes and the try assists, that may all be well and true on paper but we have lost games this year due to the fact that he is a ball hog and will not pass. It is just my opinion, and thats it MY OPINION that these are two of the most over-rated players in our team. Im sorry that blonde me and my comments are too stoopid for you... PFFT!

i 110% agree, Dykes hogs the ball too much and spends most of his time running sideways,..the sooner Witt is brought back to firsts the better

If thats your yardstick....didnt Morris play for country last year. Give me him over Drew anyday. Drew is going OK, but still living off his 2001 form.

Dykes hogs the ball too much and spends most of his time running sideways

You know what he is doing when running sideways, especially when in the opposition 20? Looking for runners, but 90% of the time there are none, everyone is on their heels watching him. When he has guys running decent angles, they score, ie the try Adam Peek got v the Sharks.

Its easy to bag Dykes when we are going poorly and highlight his errors because he handles the ball more than anybody else, but to turn around and say his try assists are well and good on paper is just a cop out.I'd say without Dykes, we'd have one....maybe two wins to our name.

It's not Jamie's fault. We all knew our backline depth was skiny all off season. We lost, in quick succession, Schifcofske, Donald and Moodie from the wing, all world clas players, plus Richards, and relied on the juniors to fill in. Plus losing Mogg, Buettner and Hodgeson added more strain to our depth. To replace them all, we bought back Guru Jnr.

Tonga had plenty of opportunity (how often does a centre pairing never miss a game) at Parra. Good on him for his career (and nice to see ex players still followed with affection. I was rapt for Bobcat on Friday Night).
