Wouldn't it be funny if Daniel Anderson did a "Brett Finch"..Signed on as assistant to Craig Bellamy, and ended up with a premiership ring in 2011...Would that be known as 'just desserts'....Just asking...

Brett Finch doesn't have a premiership ring.

Yeh. So I wonder what happens to Peter Sharp?
I suppose there's one positive. Kenny didn't get the gig.

Suity

EDIT: Arthur as backs coach. Sharp might stay.

That's interesting.....so we've signed two assistant coaches (basically) from the Storm, one for the backs and one for head coaching? It looks like the club, and Kearney, really want to turn the place around....it seems like Kearney has told the Eels that he wants Arthur and other staff to accompany him, that is a good sign-looks like the board are going to give him free reign?

2009 Premiers, the premiers for 2010 is tomorrow and it will be the Rabbtiohs or Warriors.

Wow, so he'll be our backs coach? It does sound like Kearney is aiming to bring a far more structured training regime to the Eels, which is definitely a good thing......hopefully Burt, Grothe, Tahu and co all improve under Arthur's training.

Overall, things are looking very good for next year.....we may not have recruited any big-names (at least so far) but they are all cheap and effective, and Kearney looks to bring a new structure and regime to the Eels that could potentially take us all the way.....

TBH mate, I wouldn't expect Peter Sharp, or Hayden Knowles or Rod Reddy to be asked anything about those sort of things if the shoe was on our foot.

Suity
the initial breakthrough came about because a secretary/receptionist knew of the second books. I would expect an investigation to look everywhere.

I hope the shoe is never on our feet, but the way things are handled these days it, I will never say I trust the board 100%.

except ours - cos they don't lie and they never leak anything

:sarcasm:

Look it's pretty clear that it's Fitzy, Hadley & Jethro's fault. It goes way back to when they were leaking to Josh before during and after the election.

Hey, a question for Avenger when he comes online, do you think that Ossie didn't confirm it officially yet, not only because of waiting for the Storm to announce his resignation, but also to formally announce that 'halfback' signing you mentioned earlier (you said the Eels wanted to announce a halfback along with the coach).

Just curious :)

You give me way too much credit. I was just taking the piss. Osborne has been burnt plenty this year especially with the Barrett leak. Maybe he has finally learnt his lesson. Also I believe he does not want to detract from the grand final.

OK, so Kearney wants to bring in his own men. Does anyone think this may have implications down the track for long time Eels Knowlesy and Cat?

Ah ok :) Yeah when he was asked for an interview tonight about Kearney, all he said was there are two great teams playing in a grand final tomorrow....so yeah it seems like he doesn't want to steal their thunder at all.

Well it's almost official i guess - Ossie and Spags and the current board get their man, contracts be damned.

Would hate to be Kearney if he loses his first match, and his second, and the Board still staring down a possible election defeat....

I would never trust any board 100%.

Brad Arthur ex Eel in Parramatta U21's and Reserve Grade 93/94

Yep, played lock and halfback and captained our U21s. Used to play with his socks down.

A mate of mine who played with him said Brad was the smartest footballer he ever played with. Just lacked size and speed to make first grade.

I'd never heard of him before but after reading his resume that someone posted I'm probably more excited to get him than Kearney.

A development coach and backs coach with the Storm who have been renowned for their development of players, I think this guy could be a great signing.
