Phillips im trying to find out but need a little more info.

Are you running XP? What does chkdsk say after you run it?

im on windows XP

when i do the chkdsk thingy... it comes up as "convert folder to file (Y/N)?

then says convert lost chains to files (Y/N)?

i dunno what that means so i just type in no. even after chkdsk is completed... everytime i go into paint im still getting the corrupt file notice

and on a different matter... i deleted some stuff... i go into recycle bin and delete it, yet everytime i log back in the stuff i have deleted is in my recycle bin again

This is a prefetch file that Windows uses to load up mspaint.exe quicker the next time you use it. It's my understanding that you can delete this file and it will be recreated the next time you use mspaint.

I'd also make sure your virus checker is up to date as certain viruses/trojans like to infect these prefetch files.

I also found this utility but I've never tried it out so I don't know if it will help.
