Not as a winger and especially not during the XMAS break. All clubs are on a 2 week holWhat is happening with Lodge, is Flanno going to sign him or not?
I don't think that Lodge will be signed as a winger possm. He is not that fast. Maybe he might be okay as a middle prop but as BLM01 has said the staff are on a 2 week Christmas/New Year break and the office is closed. What is happening with Lodge, is Flanno going to sign him or not?
Hope not.nHe may be good enough to make the 17, but he isn’t the leader we need on or off the field. What is happening with Lodge, is Flanno going to sign him or not?
We got the new Payne haas coming thru in the 30 man squad in LPT so let’s see what happens there. Haas was the same age when he burst on the scene. No pressure HaaHope not.nHe may be good enough to make the 17, but he isn’t the leader we need on or off the field.
i get the push for a front rower, but we dont need another average guy. They just act as a road block. it’s a true alpha or we hold the spot in case one comes up, otherwise promote a young fella or somebody from the supplementary list, or train and trial list.
Has there been a role with less clarity in recent years?
1. Rava Bulldozer
2. CT Bulldozer
3. Feagai Utility
4. Finau Ferrari, often injured
5. Lawson A Smokey that could play wing/centre
6. Allen Utility
7. Sloan Porsche, prone to making mistakes
8. Ramsey will not play in 2025
I'm all for giving the young props a go but as you say, we need an alfa prop to lead the pack. Not many available that I know of so, who do we sign? This is a very important signing. We have upgraded the team but this could come to nothing unless we buy the right prop.Hope not.nHe may be good enough to make the 17, but he isn’t the leader we need on or off the field.

The trouble with Sloan on the wing is that it reduces his opportunities for support play. As a winger, if he can double around behind the ruck occasionally (on a playmaker signal) he would be deadly following forwards or making an extra man in the backline. And as a (former?) fullback he will definitely have the fitness for that much running.WOW! It seems as though I have my money on a good odds. I am backing:
Lawson
Sloan
Lawson because he is big and fast and solid in defense. His track record with the Australian 7s is without question and with Flanno as coach, I'm tipping he will be the first winger selected.
Sloan is on notice and has been replaced by Gutherson at the back. His attack is unquestionable, and so, for a second year in a row, he needs to upgrade his skill under the high ball and definitely improve his defense technique.
And I hope Fifita joins him for the same reason. Would be an absolute bonus if this guy has a break out year.I hope you are correct Rocket. I expect Coach Flanno will have him running the sand hills (what is left of them) preparing to transition from 14 minutes of Union to eighty minutes of Rugby League.
So the the new and unproven will be better than the the experienced? Better the devil unknown?Fifita
Couchman twins
Tonga
The above-listed players are all on the verge of securing regular first-grade selection.
I would be shocked if Lawson and Sloan were not our preferred first-grade wingers. Both are potential match winners and will bring the fans to their feet each time they touch the ball.
1. Gutherson is better than Sloan
2. Sloan is better than Feagai
3. Suli
4. Holmes is better than Lomax
5. Lawson will be the best winger in the club>
A big upgrade on the 2024 backline.
The competition is so fierce I can't even name a reserve grade backline with any confidence (i.e., there have to be left overs without a place). So the the new and unproven will be better than the the experienced? Better the devil unknown?
I lean the other way, i think it will be experience to start the season. CT and Feagai or Rav. Sloan and Lawson can rack up some impressive stats in Cup before they face first grade.
Coey Allen is experienced, so he is the wild card IMO.
Time will tell.
There is also Ammaron Gudgeon who we signed from Melbourne to play fullback. The competition is so fierce I can't even name a reserve grade backline with any confidence (i.e., there have to be left overs without a place).
Glover, LKT/Hammoud, Feagai/Buchanan/Finau, Ravawala, Lawson, Allen. And there are others. Still-young guys with NRL, SOO, and international rugby experience. Brutal.
We are just stacked for backs in reserves now. There is also Ammaron Gudgeon who we signed from Melbourne to play fullback.
I’m Sorry but Feagai should not be seen in first grade again. Honestly don’t know why he got re signed. Him and his brother who has now left have had many chances to prove themselves and haven’t .Has there been a role with less clarity in recent years?
1. Rava
2. CT
3. Feagai
4. Finau
5. Lawson
6. Allen
7. Sloan
8. Ramsey
No one has a spot locked up. Whichever way you spin it, 4 of the above will be missing out on even playing NSW cup.
Personally i would start the year with experience in the position such as CT and Feagai. Unless someone like Allen blitzes pre-season and trials.
IMO, Sloan and Lawson need to prove themselves in NSW cup.
Am i missing anyone? Thoughts?
