Just some thoughts over the unbearable off season for us outsiders.

So far as Benji is concerned, he would argue that he used logic and merit to select teams. Unfortunately those learned and expert processes resulted in a catastrophic season.

If he had used emotion and matters of the heart to make his selections and in other key areas, we might have won more games.

And he blurts on about everything improving and us fans think that if this improving, we’d rather things were going backwards.

It reminds me of the end of days for Mary, when he claimed that finals were still a possibility from second last place in round 20 or something like that. He deserved a Nobel prize for mathematics working that one out.

Benji is a late coaching career Mary protégé alas. Most of what he says, reverse it and it makes a lot more sense!

When we appointed his mate Hodgo as an assistant for 2025, it seemed business as usual. Hodgos coaching career is like my crumbed chicken skewers I tried to cook last night. I had to lie to the boy and say they came that way. Forgettable and never again. His coaching record is as bad as Benjis, but he’s been sacked more often.

We are just hoping the new recruits don’t listen to him and play their own game. Especially JL.

And at least Bud left the fan-ship on good terms. There’s a still a bit of fan love for him out there, even if our management won’t talk to him.

Good luck to Bud, maybe Bennett will turn him into a 2022 Munster. Benji effed him good and proper.

Gutho knows how to unlock players like Rava, he done it with Sivo so he isn't a hopeless choice for a wing spot. Looked fit as I've seen him in a post a few weeks back but I think he is more suited to the wing, I wouldn't want to tackle him coming off a kick return full blast or 15-20 out off a Gutho cutout, we finally have a gun ball playing fullback who will have more try assist then old Benny by the end of the year I reckon
just having Gutho as an option will have teams in 2 minds but from the 1:30 mark all Rava will have to do is stay ready at all times, Dufty brought something similar

There’s some good eyes up footy, evaluation of extended inconplete defences.

Near the end there Gutho fires this beautiful long distance parabolic pass which sails over a bunch of players, is collected and a try is scored.

Id suggest Flanno will use him in the same way especially as defences tire.

As you said, he’s definitely a ball player, another strike option.
