Witt in the sh*t (Possibly)

Witt had easily his worst game for Manly last week and it's only been after that game that these stories of Orford to Manly have come out not sure if I'd be beleiving them right now

but.......

They re-signed Monaghan to a 240k a year deal and they are looking to sign Orford at 400k so that is 640k for a set of halves that doesn't really impress me that much.

also even if they keep Witt at 5/8 and move Monaghan to hooker that will mean Chad Randall and Shayne Dunley who are both off contract next year will be looking for new clubs.

Looks like Manly fans are starting to get a clue (well some of them)

If Orford signs. It should be Witt to Premier League.....Monas to 5/8th and re-sign either Randall or Dunley to play hooker. Witt isn't a 5/8th or a hooker, he is an average halfback. I believe the only position at this point in time he can play well is halfback because thats what he has played his whole life and no offence to Witt, he isn't as good as Orford and Monas. But he will make a good PL Halfback and a good back up.

story on it the herald.
Great quote from Monaghan Manager: 'Michael's not worried. He thinks Matt will make a great hooker'

Also that thug Kane Cleal has been outed for another two weeks. Glad we p**sed him off!

No offence to you eels_fan as it is a public forum but I'm sick of talking about this bloke, sick of looking at his ridiculous melon on Friday Night Footy and sick of thinking he was once thought of our next great hope.

He will be remembered like Ross Conlon....a bloke that could kick goals.

Dunno why when they can play Travis Burns at 5/8!

Very good young player. Will actually give the Sea Eagles an option in attack rather than the "close your eyes and pass" option that has been found out by a lot of clubs this year.

Monaghan can also play hooker...

Monaghan is the worst halfback, and its his natural position, so how is he going to play hooker!!

People have talked up Witt, Monaghan and Manly all year. When really, if you take the friday night game against the roosters wher a late rooster try was incorrectly disallowed for a forward pass, and a game earlier in the year against Melbourne where referee Steve Clarke, Massacared the Storm, giving Manly mutliple multiple sets of six in attack which allowed them to score the winning tries as two games the Eagles should have lost, that would put them back on 18 points, out side the 8, and nobody would be talking about them at all!

Can I officially apologise, on behalf of all Manly fans, for skiting about the signature of your half, Witt, in October last year?

It appears as though you have made the right call.

Also, any chance you could arrange for Kane Cleal to be transferred to Russia where he might have an outside chance of making a national team?

Finally, some very accurate comments above about Manly's so-called playmaking. "The close eyes and pass option" is spot on. It seems as though our captain and playmaker is not capable of directing kindergarten kids across a zebra crossing, let alone a disparate bunch of forwards with differing agendas.

We may scrape the 8 but we'll be sitting ducks like Canberra were last year. The only light in the gloom is Kennedy and Menzies (the grand fathers). If they get injured tonight .....................

Good call Mzilikazi.

It seems as if Coach Smith actually knew what he was doing all along in relation to player retention for this season.

Ironically though mate, if you do manage to snare Matt Petersen as has been suggested you'll be picking up a player that the club wants to keep. ;-)

I'm at odds with most if not all of you regarding Monaghan, where i strongly believe his the reason why Manly are on 22 points. Admmitedly their forwards have set a plat form for him however Mona's has had to deal with a few obstacles, mainley a dodgy backline including a five-eight, which he's been carrying on his back all season.

I'm a fan of his!!
