Our man👍

11. ISAIAH PAPALI’I 8

New Zealand’s most important forward, racking up 124 running metres off 18 runs — the most of any forward on the field. Also got four tackle busts, a linebreak assists and two offloads as well as 27 tackles with just one miss.

interestingly played on the left. Threw a beautiful cut out pass to Maulitalo which lead to a try. I thought he was the best player on the field.

If he wasn’t, he must have been very close.

Picking up marquee kiwi is pretty big time. We could have a good discussion about how many of them would make both origin sides if eligible. Quite a few I’d think if they can take the kangaroos to the wire.

Kudos to for the signing approach and putting him on our list, Madge and maybe Harto. Perhaps Tim had a swing.

Hopefully Madge wasn’t in his ear, but Tim and minders is about to keep him honest I guess.

I might also add, that Madge’s success with the Kiwis, appears to support the proposition that given a reasonable squad with some go, he is an entirely competent coach and the decision to move him on when we did, remains an issue.

We simply don’t hear allegations of Madge ball and other unkindnessness’ when he’s working with a good squad.

If the semi fresh squad of 2023 delivers the same lethargic and befuddled bullshit that they did this year…

But Bateman, Paps and Api are very high calibre footballers. We’d have to try hard to spoon.

All that said, I’d prefer Desmond to coach us. He will get a gig soon I imagine and we will be stuck with the Underpanted Moofie.

Great game this morning between England and Samoa.
The poms probs thought they'd win it fairly easily . . especially after the flogging they gave them in the qualifiers.
Bateman was very good, I thought. A slightly poorer version of Victor Radley. They both play a similar style. Not the biggest blokes on the field, but there's no point telling either of them that they ain't the quickest, strongest, and most consistent player on the field.
Coz they both play like they believe that.
If we can snag this bloke, we're doing OK.

The local Samoans were going bezerk around the neighbourhood at 340am.

Pissed and happy.

A good scene.

I done the maths, there be 335 poms for each Samoanese.

Outstanding.

The only black spot was seeing Taylan May because of his garbage family connections.

Heard Parish made some claim that a tiny dot in the pacific had produced this team.
f**k up dickhead…they’re mostly all Australians. We produced that team.

Spot on bro.
Wonder where most of their loyalties would lie if they got picked for Australia first?
