There should be a World XI Team That Plays Australia after the conclusion of the ashes

My Team Would Be:

AB DeVilliers
Herschelle Gibbs
Brian Lara (c)
Sachin Tendulkar
Kevin Pietersen
Mark Boucher
Shaun Pollock
Shoaib Akhtar
Matthew Hoggard
Muttiah Muralitharan
Chaminda Vaas (Best Bowling List A Cricket 8/19)

Honourable Mentions

Kumar Sangakkara (boucher just imo)
Charl Langeveldt (good player just not in form)
Sanath Jayasuria
Andrew Flintoff
Chris Gayle
Stephen Fleming
Nicky Boje

Might of Missed More in the honourable mentions

Test team

Strauss/Smith/Sehweg
Fleming (c)
Dravid
Kallis
Lara
Yousuf
Sangakarra
Flintoff
Pollock/Ntini
Bond
Murali

if they were serious would destroy Aust - openers really the only weakness

Boucher is better wicket keeper than sangakkara, imho

its hardly rubbish, there is alot of players to consider when picking this team

Boucher is a horrible wicketkeeper - if you want that style of player McCullum is much better

Sangakarra is now a specialist batter, but still the best keeper batsman.

this team is mainly based on form, i dont know every test player in the world, im only knew to cricket, i havent seen a couple of the players in JJs Team play that much

what about an 'overall world team'... tough... openers still the weakness, so a bit of license taken

Dravid (c)
Hussey
Ponting
Kallis
Lara
Yousuf
Sangakarra
Flintoff
Bond
Warne/Murali
McGrath/Ntini

Go ok I reckon!!

i would definately get rid of devillers, he was only a player to fill in the gap, i still would prefer boucher than sangakkara, only because i havent seen too much of kumars game, only once or twice

Flintoff i would get into the fray, hoggard deserves his spot

the fact that you dont have Tendulkar in your team, is beyond me

my team would do just fine against the aussies, JJs team is better, i agree, but my team isnt all that bad, really

the only reason Tendulkar wouldn't be picked right now is form - an array of injuries means he hasn't played anywhere near the way he can for quite a while now

Not really becuase on form and that is what you are picking it on, Tendulkar has been very average lately or injured.

Warne over Murali, and I'd probally be tempted to pick Hoggard over Bond.

Warne and Murali really are 6 of one... half dozen of the other I'm not fussed.

When fit Bond is the most destructive quick in the game - Lee's pace with a brain, control and more swing.... Watch him destroy the Sri Lankans tomorrow :D. Remember the name - BOND, SHANE BOND!!!

Hoggard is decent, but not the same class

this was a failure last time,

Aussies are not that good that they would whip the worlds best so easily

they just didn't play as a team and couldn't give a sh*t, so whats the point in playing it again unless its a hard fought spectacle

In terms of wicket Keeper/batsmen, AB de-villiers looks a great prospect. Was in fine form with the gloves the other night replacing boucher, and is in exceptional from with the bat.

the last world team was a failure, and a waste of money to go and watch. $20 more than a regular test to watch inzy scratch his arse
