How about a "root the cheerleaders" comp

On the plus side the Tigers and Panthers would sell out
On the downside The Roosters would fill up with Rockspiders and there goes another brilliant initiative

Not necessarily halftime entertainment but Victor the Viking kicking footballs into the crowd and hitting a bloke carrying 4 beers straight in the stomach was brilliant.

I remember a game at the SFS where a heap of fat kids had a race to the end of the ground and the winner got some weight loss stuff.

took f**king ages, they were all walking before they got to the halfway, 3 of the 5 just sat down and gave up.

hahaha

 That is fantastic. I remember when I lived in Brisbane the hogs breath pig would walk up an down the sideline doing backflips. Not halftime entertainment but it was still enjoyable.

I get that the budget would be pretty small, but all they need to to for they half time show is get some RLS coverback to play 15 minutes of nostalgic 80's rock classics...

(ala: this kinda shit... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBjMRS3Ef7A)

It'd be dead cheap, and there'd be bands like that all over the place just doing local circuits.

It just always annoys me when clubs get to half time and have nothing to fill it with, so they bring out every shitty little idea they can come up with and cover the field in 10 minute activities.

3 of my brothers took turns doing the gymnastic tricks as the hogs breath pig. ;-)

I'm surprised that clubs still have this kind of half time entertainment.

The Raiders ditched their half time crowd participation events years ago because too many people were taking legal action against the club.

The most spectacular of them all was a Canberra Milk promotion where a player would put up a bomb and the participant had to catch it in a milk crate. It was a bit out of reach for one bloke so he dived for it and landed awkwardly on his head, fully outstretched. The guy suffered some kind of spinal injury and couldn't work afterwards, so he put in a compensation claim. His daughters put in a claim for witnessing the event, and the wife (who wasn't there) put in a claim for allegedly suffering a mood adjustment disorder, or some shit, as a result of having to deal with the aftermath.

Must be this one

Canberra are also facing a $400,000 claim in the ACT Supreme Court from a fan who was knocked unconscious while trying to catch footballs in a milk crate eight years ago.

?We had to get rid of the Big Ball Bash years ago, because of public liability concerns,? Raiders boss Don Furner said.

?It?s a shame because it was a popular game, but that?s the world we live in. We also had waiver forms, but it didn?t matter.?

That bread story is gold.

My favorite that I witnessed was North Sydney Oval, late '80's. An eels mate dragged me out there and it was a low game. One of those games where both teams just seemed to be going through the motions.

Blowing a gale it was too and at half time they decided a paper plane throwing contest would be good entertainment.

Farcical would be the only way I could describe it. Was seriously as lame as it gets. We still talk about it though and for some reason it's a happy memory.

Pregame not halftime, but the band that played before the Roosters/Knights prelim last year was an absolute shocker. Should never have left the coffee shop they were recruited from. I think they also did a round 26 game as well last year which was broadcast (I think it was Broncos vs Bulldogs but am not 100% sure).
