Then the next year not to be outdone he blew about 30 penalties due to incorrect play the balls. He didn't care about making the game flow and making it into the spectacle it deserved he only cared about making himself look good.

Ah yes, I remember that game in 2000, occurring shortly after the NRL announced they were going to suddenly crack down on incorrect play-the-balls where the player didn't touch the ball with his foot:

Oh, how that never gets penalised today and how many fans forget.....this occurs nearly every play-the-ball these days.

One of the Roosters forwards last played the ball legally once the entire time I was watching (with the caveat the telecasters cameras dont pick up every play the ball)

How hard is it for the refs to glance down at a players foot. during the PTB. Its equally unfair because some oaf who hasnt done a correct play the ball all year is going to be penalised at random in the finals. If the refs consistently penalised it either he learns to play the ball properly or the coach drops him.
