Worst season in history

Had this debate with JW in another thread, we had 3 good weeks that covered up an otherwise mediocre season. Bennett is too stubborn and too set his his ways to adapt to the modern game. In particular his own moral crusade against wrestling is seriously handicapping the team considering the game plan he wishes to employ. All Wayne gas managed to do is highlight the importance of having a wrestling coach

I feel your pain knights supporters as the dragons are down there with you but jut wondering from an outsiders view, what is the main problem there this year? You were one game off the GF last year with basically the same team, except for buderis-(maybe I have forgotten someone else). Is it the whole tinkler thing, bennett, or as most of you seem to be saying, you need some front rowers, much like my team?
All I know is we would kill to have beau scott and jeremy smith back, they are one of the main reasons we won in 2010 and i was shattered at losing scott.

Buderus is a massive loss that isn't receiving enough attention imo. Even last year when we were going well, when he came off the team fell away. When Hilder, Costigan, Clydesdale and co replaced him, the team lost direction substantially. Clydesdale really needs to step up and play a similar role to Buderus. A big ask I know given his age and lack of experience.

^ yep. Our pack is very average. We have a few decent second rowers but no real first grade quality props. Bedsy's great service out of dummyhalf last year gave them a roll on and made them look a lot better than they really were. Now he's gone they've been found out as being average. They couldn't even make it into the Rooster's half last night.

Mason and Fa'alogo are too old and ineffective now to be starting front rowers. They shouldn't be in the side and probably wouldn't be if we didn't have to sack two young props and lose another one to a career ending injury. At his best Snowden is great but he takes too long each year to get in shape and playing good footy. I like him but when he's our best prop it's pretty sad. We need to buy at least 2-3 good props and turn Rochow and Sims into pure front rowers if we're any chance of ever being competive again. A strike second rower wouldn't hurt either.

I think Bennett also underestimated the impact the new ruck interpretation would have. Teams with big packs that wrestle well are having success, we are right down the bottom in both those aspects
