OK, Glen.
Still, I've heard the rumour that if Saints and Parra throw it against us and Manly then two other teams drop out then they can bounce us again the following week (in reverse order).

That is very risky if they decide on doing that sort of under the table deal...

But anything that gets us playing a week later is fine by me... :D

The 1983 side appeared to be only making up the numbers.

I think I was more disappointed after 2000. I still think that it was a much stronger squad. After winning the minor premiership in 1999, I was expecting more from that team. 1989 was also heart breaking. If we'd beaten the Gold Coast we would have finished top 3. The 1979 thrashings in the semis after finishing third were also terrible.

To be honest, I didn't have high expectations of this years squad. I think I predicted 6th place. Of course the early season wins raised my expectations much higher. These were again shot down in flames, like they every year since 1978.

Big flaw in that theory Popper.

They beat us and Manly they have a week off and play one of the stronger teams, with no extra risk of injury etc.

Basically either way they get to the same position, one is with little or no risk.

On current form they'd have to work harder to throw the game than to win it.

They can play their Flegg teams or sign Lee Murphy and Ben Kusto on one match deals.

I think you people are fugged in the head

give yourselves a triple

live in the now

we are in the finals and we are going to win this semi, I will accept apologies now but not after.

I agree with Macca BUT...........

This can only happen if Raper makes hard decisions that he has shown all year he is not able to make. Like:

Simmo - GONE
Stop starting Hutch
FFS do something about the defence around the ruck (not having a bunch of forwards who can not move sideways all on at the same time might help!)
As we have nothing to lose in the next game start Dykes on the bench and Vags at 5/8
Get rid of Sully and Galloway (would rather see Cliff having a go or Move Willaims or Gallen to interchange as prop and bring Ciraldo back)

Do something, anything, that proves he is aware of the problems and willing to have a go!!!

I think they are the worst-coached team. I still think they have some great players in the team, but they are not playing to their best because of poor selections, and lack of a decent game plan. That's just my opinion.

That's my view as well. The team is actually full of Internationals and SOO players. They are THE most experienced team in the comp, something I posted about earlier. (total NRL games played)

These guys know how to play the game but sadly know better how to follow a plan that is antiquated, juvenile and ineffective.

All year we have screamed for changes to the team, and we have mostly gotten the changes at some stage, in most cases far too late. But the one change that hasn't happen is any sort of evolution of the game plan and systems. We've now used well over 30 players in this comp and all have fallen into the same traps. Unlikely to happen in a professionally run club with a strong roster and good coach.

We have only 1 of 3 there.

And the strength of the roster can be argued in many cases as well.

So for mine, no, not the worst team but the worst run team.

Imagine the team with a J Lang in charge?

So true..
With John Lang in charge, we would be up competing with the Eels and the Dragons for the Minor Premiership and the Premiership, not languishing down in 7th, thinking to ourselves, what could have been and there is always next year..
