Every club needs an Austin, he plays his guts out every week and can handle a number of different positions as well. I'll be spewing if we let him go.

I find it funny the Tigers want to get rid of their only player worth feeding in recent times. Maybe because he didn't help with the 'play bad so coach gets the sack' plan?

Good player, always tries, strong for his size, would be a good pick up for most clubs. Tigers are stupid to let him go

Tigers want to keep Austin but he wants to play 5/8th. With Moses set to partner Brooks it will be difficult for Austin to play there. He may ask for a release so he can play 5/8th at another club.
lol Tiger's would be mad to cut Austin for Moses. In what little both lads have seen of 1st's. Austin is by far the better of the two. More size, better passing game, decent kicking and far more ticker. Also has a wonderful left foot that sees him through the line on a regular basis.

The Tigers have given him the opportunity to negotiate with other clubs. They are going with Brooks/Moses. I think that is madness.

They'll honour the contract if he doesn't find any suitors, but I reckon half the NRL clubs will be climbing over each other to get him.

Yeah but if he does ask for a release, why do they feel they need to grant it to him?

Just to be good guys?

I'm sure the Tigers would love to release Lawrence and even Blair next year, but doubt it is going to happen, so when a prior contract decision works in the clubs favour why would they comply?

Read the post above. The Tigers have given him permission to look elsewhere and leave if he finds a full time six jersey.
