That was unreal!!!

I haven't reacted to a match like that in a loooong time. I grew up in the Goldberg era and he was my man.

Today was very nostalgic and awesome!

Their Wrestlemania match 12 years ago wasn't that good, and I thought they would have wanted to make up for it, but no! They have a match that lasts less than 2 minutes.

Id say they might do a third but hopefully not at mania.
I'm wondering if this was set up to give some an instant rub.
Goldberg comes back and destroys the conqueror, gets a few more scalps (id love reigns to be one of them) and then get beat at mania by someone for the big push.
Strowman perhaps?

It makes sense. If Goldberg was going to go over, it needed to be a quick match. Catch Lesnar by surprise, bang bang, get the 1-2-3. Set up for something down the road.

I disagree.

They've built up Lesnar like he's a genuine threat; he's the beast, the conqueror, the killer of the streak, etc. - and he loses to a 50-year old who hasn't wrestled in 12 years in 2 minutes?

I'm sorry, but no part of that makes any sense.

I'm glad Goldberg got over for nostalgia's sake, but the match was a joke.

I agree and disagree equally with everyone's views about Goldberg/Lesnar.

As long as it leads to something interesting, id be cool with it.

I liked the shock value of the match

Here's what I think should happen now.

Imagine if Goldberg dominates the Royal Rumble and wins..

Then goes to Mania and loses clean and puts some young stud over, completely clean.

As the ultimate Goldberg fan - I would be happy to see this go down.

But they could have done that with the still-relevant Lesnar; have Lesnar kick Goldberg's arse, go on a path of destruction, and lose clean to Superstar X.

Having Goldberg dismantle Lesnar like that...

I like Goldberg and all, but the match was a piss take.

None of the current main event stars need the rub, and the only other guy who might benefit from beating Goldberg clean - Braun Strowman - does not need it, as he's been booked as an unstoppable behemoth already (not to mention the fact Strowman is need other ready for the main event).

Goldberg beating Lesnar is fine, if it serves a greater purpose.

Goldberg destroying Lesnar like it's 1999 is totally stupid, imo.

But that's not new or fresh if they went the Lesnar path.

I really loved this. Mostly because NO ONE would've predicted things panning out that way.

I don't think it ruins Lesnar either, all he has to do is come back and say he took Goldberg lightly and he got caught with some damn good spears and he won't make the same mistake next time.

Goldberg is hot property right now in the WWE universe. I love it.

I don't mind Goldberg winning - it's the way the match unfolded that I have an issue with.

But hopefully Bill can run with it.

I don't have too much of an issue with how it went, Lesnar turned his back on Goldberg getting up and ate a spear from it. That to me is how some fights go, just ask Lesnar when he turned his back on Mir and ended up in a knee bar.

I just don't get it.

I'm glad Goldberg won for the nostalgic fan in me - but surely they could have had Goldberg go over without ruining Lesnar's mystique?

I don't think any mystique has been ruined at all. To be honest, I think the mystique would have been ruined if Goldberg won in a 15 minute+ match.

How are casual fans supposed to take "The Beast, the Conqueror..
BROOOOOOOOCK LESNAAAAARRRRRRR!!!!" seriously, when he got squashed by a 50-year old who hasn't wrestled in 12 years?

Only reason Goldberg is this over is nostalgia, imo.

I'm glad he's back, because he's cool as hell, but the match was nonsensical imo.

I was all for it to be honest.
Sometimes, non-sensical matches like that are the best ones. Not everything needs a pay off.
This match served it's purpose, Goldberg is well and truly over (more than before). It was so unpredictable and it's got people talking all over the globe about it.

Where will they go with Goldberg now? Win the rumble? Dominate the rumble and then gets assaulted from a Brock Lesnar? from a Braun Strowmann perhaps? Who could work a proper match with Goldberg and make him look good? Look at Goldbergs arguably best match, against DDP - Not a monster. What if say a good worker, a Cesaro or a Dolph (someone who can put up a decent match) eliminates a strong looking Goldberg, and then puts on a good 15-20 minutes WM match. The result of the WM wouldn't matter as such because he would look strong from eliminating Goldberg to begin with and actually just having a good match with him that lasts some distance, also makes him look strong

Am I the only one impressed with Strowman?

He's bigger than my house, moves with great agility, abd is adding new moves to his repertoire.

I'm impressed with the guy, tbh.
