Xmas Fan Day

I have just found out that the Xmas Fan Day scheduled for the 6th Dec has been cancelled in Lieu of the Jersey Launch. What utter crap. The Jersey launch will go for what, and hour max. And I doubt there will be much chance to mingle with the boys. Once again our club has taken a fun day and absolutely ruined it. I know I will not be joining up for membership next year as this years membership was supposed to include a XMAS FAN DAY!!!!

The Parramatta Eels Membership has been a farce for some time now. If I have any problems with the club, it's the way in which Members are constantly screwed around with.

And this latest episode is further proof that those people that are supposed to be looking out for Supporters are not doing their job properly. A jersey launch in place of a Members Christmas party is a slap in the face. I paid $45 in January this year, under the guise that I would get an invitation to a MEMBERS CHRISTMAS PARTY, I don't remember seeing OR JERSEY LAUNCH.

The reason while I feel so passionately about this is because I won't be here for the Jersey launch. And as I write this I'm getting visions of the 500 + people crammed into the auditorium and swamping the players for autographs and what not. Out of all the time I've been attending Chirstmas pasrties, Season Launches etc for eels fans, the set up of these events has been somewhat mediocre; Very crammed poorly organised. The only exceptions would be the Breakfast and this years Season launch. At least they've got their act together in the actual events.

Come on Membership department, give us our Christmas pary!

Yea it sucks that they aren't having a xmas party this year, I always look forward to them, they are soooo much fun. But it does say on the calendar of events that it is subject to change. I guess this damn pokie tax is ruining everything!

The thing I find most annoying is that the Xmas Party was during the day - an event people with kids who want to take their children to - ala me! Even though my little bloke is 9 months he is particularly social and would have had a great time - he is of course a BabyEel - (an extra $16 on top of mine for membership as well). It makes it really difficult to drag him around on a Tuesday night where he will be tired and grumpy to get his shirt signed. How many other families will be not taking their kids - who will no doubt be disappointed???

I think the date was "subject to change" not the actual event. I say we all email membership@parraeels.com.au (i hope thats right) and let them know we are not happy!!!

I say you just get over the fact that it has been cancelled! I'm sure there is a reason to why it has been cancelled... Don't you see enough of the players anyway! Just relax!

As the membership includes the Xmas Fan day I don't see the reason why we have to get over it. As I said its a good day for families - how many people are about to drag their kids along to the Leagues Club on a Tuesday night to the jersey launch. It makes a lot more sense to cater for the kids as well.

It is a joke, but why are we suprised!!!

Look at season tickets? this year they dont include membership (thats an extra $35), but the cost of the season tickets (in the terrace any way) is the same. So they have essentially increased the price of the season ticket by 20-25%. What was the CPI again......

Last year they promised loads on the members ection of the internet site as well and delivered diddly squat! Regular chats with players and when was the first one... i think it was Mick Vella in a bout round 16/17!

Yea it sucks that the Christmas party is cancelled. However, last year membership was included in the cost of season ticket for free! Therefore the season ticket price has not increased at all, you just don't get your membership included anymore!

Well they value the membership at $35 dollars this year, and it doesnt include anything that wasnt there last year. And the prices of season tickets went up a bit last year to include that membership.

C'mon, you know that doesn't make good logic! While the season ticket price may remain the same, the value included in it from the previous year has decreased, which is the same as a prcie rise. (Only less people notice it.)

It's the same deal as the time when they reduced the home games by one from 12 per season to 11 or whatever, but kept the price of the season ticket exactly the same.

It's all ecomomics, and unfortunately it's about fleecing the loyal fans, not giving something back (eg member Xmas party) out of other revenue. I'd really like to think otherwise of the Eels Office, but I can't.

Guys you dont know what you have or how much access you guys have to your team....

Instead of doing the same old fan day, they have decided to have a public jersey launch, that includes the fans! How many clubs do this??? Not many at all!

Parra has decided to include the fans and I must congratulate the Parra Marketing or Parra Office for doing this! I think this is an excellent idea, instead of reading about it the next day in the Tele you are there! You get to see the jersey before anyone else does...unlike other clubs!!! Be thankful your club has decided to do this!

Some facts, memebership is usually November one year to November of next year.

Someone pointed out to me that the 2003 supporter Clubs included the XMAS Party in December 2002 which would of been part of the 2003 Memebrship, in the 2004 memerbship nothing is mentioned about a Xmas Party, so in fact they didnt rip off the fans as many claim!

Be thankful that your club cares about the fans!!!

I know my kids & I always enjoy "the same old fan day" as does every other fan that goes and I am upset about it being cancelled.

I am going to the jersey launch and am happy that I'll get to see it there rather than in the newspaper or on the news but I have 4 kids to take along and after school & probably a hot day, they'll be tired & it's on a school night so i'm not expecting a good night.I'd much rather take them to the Xmas party in the day & I know they'd prefer that too.
On the subject of the jersey launch, the club will be making a huge amount of money on the night so of course us fans are included...Where do you think the money's coming from?!
As previously suggested, why didn't they just combine the two events instead of cancelling one?!

Another thing is that can't be right about the 2003 membership not including a members xmas party.I've got a Parra Mattas newsletter in front of me right now dated April 2003 and on the back page under Calender of Events is members christmas party Saturday 6 December 2003,so if the xmas party was in December 2002 there would be no need to mention another xmas party.
Sorry but it looks like they are clutching at straws!

Why dont you stop nagging about it,about xmas party being cancelled, it isn't going to change anything and enjoy the fact that the launch will be a good night!
