94th minute penalty to win 2-1.

Leicester with only the one shot on target.

James Milner with the Mbappe celebration after he scored.

Refuse to say we'll win the league, but it'd be very silly to pretend that we arent the strong favourites now.

Those who disagree will point to the 7 point lead we gradually lost, but the problem with our 7 point lead was that we had to immediately travel to City and protect the lead, and there was every chance that we were going to lose in a tight, even game as we did.

United and Spurs may be our next opponents but they are in dire straits and I especially cannot see Spurs getting anything at Anfield.

City are also out of sorts and it's very doubtful that their defensive problems and vulnerabilities will somehow be remedied before they come to Anfield. City have looked woeful at the back in all of their previous four matches and that comes down to their available personnel and the ever more so exposed defensive flaws of Pep's system.

This is the luck we need, didn't get it last year.
The Sheffield keeper, the penalty - it all adds up.
I am still not convinced we will win the league with City around and the fact they can spend 200mil in January, but it is going to be a hell of a ride again.
To be 8/8 without Becker is phenomenal.

If Liverpool materially extend the gap even further by January then it won't matter what City do in the transfer market.

Be interesting to see what happens with our quarter final, it is scheduled the day before our first CWC game in Qatar.

Just make this weeks game count for both comps.
If it’s a draw we get a point each for the League but then go to penalties to see who advances in the League Cup.
Don’t know that Villa will like the idea though as they will miss out on the second games revenue but they will also miss out on it if we forfeit.
Let all tv networks broadcast the game too so there’s no we’ve got the rights to the Premier League and you’ve got the rights to the Coconut Cup argument.

There is talk that we may either have to play the team of youngsters again and play the same night in a different timezone.
Or, as we have currently done, ask the QF to be rescheduled for a week later, which would mean we would play a QF on the 8th of Jan, a SF on the 15th Jan and the 2nd leg on the 29th.

Well that was a really enjoyable game to watch.
It was a fun game and good to see where our young players are in their progression. Harvey Elliott looks a really confident player, a few mistakes in him but generally a very good player.
Curtis Jones needs to be in the first team squad on a weekly basis, he has immense talent. Brewster is ok, progression well, Nico Williams looks every bit a player and has a wicked delivery on him.

On the flip side, Naby Keita continued to struggle, Lallana looked average and Origi struggled bad in the first half. he gave the ball away for a goal as well.

This team. f**king hell.

Just don't know how to lose.
Trent was magnificent.
Our fullbacks were the 2 best attackers on the pitch and were the difference.
Still can’t work out that VAR with the armpit explanation because the defenders knee looked to be the last line anyway but could be me being one eyed.

Nah, even many neutrals think that Atkinson is either a complete muppet who shouldn't be a referee in any capacity again, or a corrupt bastard.

f**k Fergie Time, it's now Kloppage Time
