Sturridge, Coutinho and Origi back in training this week. I guess they are our new signings.

We didn't panic buy or spend for the sake of it. We have all but one defender back from injury as skrtel is due back in the coming week as well, 2 strikers in Studge and Origi and our main creative midfield influence in Pip. They'll be like new signings.

Squad is massively bloated so we need to trim before buying. Klopp will hopefully be ruthless in the summer window and for sure we'll see some incomings as well.

If we aren't linked to new keeper by the summer I'll be shocked.

Considering:

(1) We have more pressing areas in the team that need addressing; and
(2) Mignolet signed a 5year contract extension only in the last couple of weeks;

I'd be very surprised if that is the case in the short-medium term.

Considering GK is our weakest area with Mognolet not good enough, bogdan an average championship level keeper and ward an academy graduate.

Signing contract extensions mean diddly as well. Suarez signed a 5 year extension a year before he was sold

I'm not sure our keeper will have the same demand as saurez

mignolet is an average epl keeper, he's not the best and not at a standard good enough for our club,....but he is for many others (epl and abroad). he is arguably top 3 goal stoppers in the comp.

there are ALOT more suitors for mid level talent (as there are talent options available), the 5 year contract i can understand is a protection of his resale value, but it is also a risk. it is purely a commercial decision because i agree with you it makes f**k all sense from a footballing perspective....but that's what we have to expect from fsg

I don't know why you are all wasting your breath trying to counter-argue CJ's histrionics. It's like trying to argue with a dude from the Flat Earth Society.

LFC simply decided that there was no one out there in January worth having a serious go at- apart from Teixeira. With FSG's backing, it seemed the club would have been happy to pay what Shakhtar wanted, but Klopp said 'no, I dont need him that desperately.' But nope, still 'FSG's fault'...

I know extensions can mean diddly but klopp's words on mignolet after the extension make me think otherwise

One target in 30 days? No plan b? When the manager states we clearly need to look at adding someone.....

Who takes accountability for this ineptness then genius?

See, this is where I do agree with CJ.

We need goals, had 30 days to find them, and flew out to Florida on the 18th. Whilst we were encouraged by Shaktar's camp, and Teixeria's camp to go and get the player, surely we knew the Ukrainian's are extremely hard to deal with.
The burning question is, why was there no back up plan, and a plan after that.

Surely if that 24 million bid went in, then one could have gone in for Nolito and say Lacazette at the same time. Remembering, Lyon accepted a 22million pound bid for Lacazette.

This is not an FSG failure, it is a club failure.

The other burning question is, if this was Klopp's number one target, FSG were going to pull a deadline day deal of 38 mil, why did he say no?
Was he told it would come off his summer budget?

For the life of me, to not add in January, and no one is blaming the manager is worrying. Klopp is getting to much of a free ride.
He is still picking the shit players who offer nothing. He is still not having a back up plan in games, and we are now averaging less points per game under him than Rodgers.

Yes, he is a class manager. But does anyone actually think we will be able to finish 8th or 9th and sign world class players?

it is about FSG because the c**k ups are neverending!

who takes responsibility for that? you can't keep blaming the people the put in charge and say bad luck they cocked up each and every time. when things like this happen in business you look further up, not down.

have they changed the executive personal making these changes? have they changed the transfer committee? the definitition of insanity is continuing with the same methods that don't work, at the end of the day, the person at the top is responsible in these situations. its not f**king american pro sports here, the epl doesn't have a draft and it doesn't have a salary cap, someone has to slap these merkins around to make them realise that replicating their yank methods on lfc is destroying the heart and soul of this club.

Why do we still have a z grade defence?
It's not just Mignolet that's the problem back there.
You all know my thoughts on Lovren but how the hell does he get recalled as soon as he's fit especially when he's not good enough in the first place.Read he won 10/10 headers well done.
He made 1/5 tackles for a guy in central defence.Pathetic.When will they learn to pick players on ability and not price tags.Lovren and Mignolet are not alone though.
As for the attack there's a complete lack of creativity.
Every time a decision has to be made between shooting and passing they get it wrong.
Not blaming Benteke here as he wasn't on long enough but did he actually do anything when he came on?
Klopps in the media trying to boost the egos of our players but I bet privately he's thinking there's more than a few that shouldn't be here.

there aren't many centre backs that can leg it with leicester's pace up front. we knew it was coming (their counters), the fullbacks if anything should have given our centre backs more protection. theirs f**k all any CB in the world could have done against vardy's strike, but sakho's routine dalliance on the ball (expected) should have had more protection from those around him

Im with you on selections, Klopp takes the brunt of that for me.
Moreno, Lovren, Lucas, Milner, Lallana, Mignolet... all of them complete f**king shit.
Play the kids, the season is done and dusted.

I know there was nothing we could have done about the wonder strike. Wait, there was. Mignolet didn't need to be outside of the 18 yard box. He isn't Manuel Neuer.
He is garbage. Back peddling the whole way encouraged Vardy to have a shot.
Vardy also said that when asked about it.
He said that both times they have played he has noticed Migs wandering around so he was going to have a crack.

The guy is a f**king knob head of a keeper. And we have him for 5 more years.
