I think we should set-up a side competition this season as well...

On top of our head to head league, we set up a roto-scoring league and set it to NO TRADES or PICKUPS throughout the entire season! I played with this setting last year and it made it a lot of fun (especially in the draft, where injury prones like T-Mac, Yao etc all went undrafted). Plus, because you can't ever update it, it allows us to concerntrate on our head to head league - which is easily the bigger deal of the two.

Who would be interested in that?

I think the league can be expanded to something like 20+ teams so if we get over 12 signups, it's not a problem...

That would be pimping! I'm always up for something a little different every year. :lol:

Why? TO's is a great category.

Yeah i would be down with having one roto and one head to head. TO in fantasy is something that i've never really been able to decide on.

On one hand, its a bit unfair to have TO's because most of the great guards and swingmen in the league will generally rank towards the top. These guys are obviously going to have the ball in their hands most of the time so naturally their TO rate will be higher. Thats where the whole AST/TO Ratio kinda helps.

On the other hand, i like it in the sense that at least it levels the playing field somewhat between people who get the great guards, i.e. James, Paul, Wade, Kobe etc. and those who don't.

I just think it sort of defies logic - you need the ball in your hands in order to record something in every other statistical category, yet the more the ball is in your hands, the more you're likely to be penalised by turnovers. It's contradictory.

I get your point but i also do think that having TO's at least offers something to the people who draft later and may not pick up the Lebron's or Wade's.

You said yourself that you drafted first last year and didn't win, so I don't see how not getting the best player means turnovers are somehow more relevant? They're just a negative category.

I think my performance was more due to my own ineptitude in fantasy strategy than anything . I do kind of agree with you, as i said before, the great players are going to have the ball in their hands alot of the time, therefore obviously they will have more TO. Personally thats where i think the AST/TO ratio is very helpful as it doesn't hurt players like Wade or Lebron too much.

Although I understand the case to keep the stat, I hate hate hate TO's as a fantasy category! In many ways it rewards people who do jack all in an offense, which shouldn't be the focus of any fantasy league.
