Well guys,

After 3 rounds, these two blokes and Priddis, in my view, have simply excelled.

I've said often enough, that Horny isn't a half and Young isn't a hooker, but Youngs position at Lock is perfect. Horny, well where else do you play him. Both these guys must be on the park, on the run on side.

Hornbys defence is first rate, as is Youngs. In my view these two players, stalwarts of the great St. George club, are integral to the teams performance. Hornbys defence last night, was simply superb.

Priddis is getting back to his best and will complete the hooking role admirably well. He will only get better.

And did I see young Soward again in many tackles. His tackle on Thurston was simply great stuff.

Hornby is a top class defender but I've noticed that he does like to give the opposing player space and execute the tackle from the side rather than front on.

It works 99% of the time but he has in the past been caught out by pure speed.

For me, we've had no weak links, no passengers etc. We're playing like a team who individually know their role and are comfortable in carrying it out for the betterment of the team. The boys are enjoying their footy and are willing to do those little extra things that generally don't get noticed all the time.

Massive test next week against the effluent from Melbourne, they'll be nervous, they know the Dragon's are coming.

Beg to differ....his front on defence is quite strong.....to be honest Hornby would be the best defensive half back in the game for technique and positional play / defensive reads.

Youngs defence and ballplaying ability at lock is great. I would like to see him improve his running game though. To me it looks like hes not as confident with it yet when hitting the line

I have been saying for about 3 years now he is a natural leader and should be (C) IMO. Once he gets the chance he will excel.

i agree with his running, just doesnt have that impact you would like but i am not going to complain the guy is the leader of the team and has been playing exceptionally well

Yes, Saints wouldn't go wrong with Young as captain; nothing between them. (Hornby and Young as captain)

I believe a captain needs to be constantly around the area of the ruck and obviously, both these guys fit the bill perfectly.

The only thing I am not too fond off is a winger or fullback as captain.

Langlands was an exception.

Young is way more suited to lock...

Hornby needs a better ball running and kicking game to lead a team around in origin
