Robinson ain't the strongest runner of the football but he is a strong defender. Considering that Hindmarsh, Cayless and Morrison will be taking the majority of the hitups, Chad's defencive abilities will prove more than useful unlike Vella who can't stop any forward dead in their tracks.

Cayless taking hit-ups, Yeh...... 5 metres.

Having Cayless there is much better than not. He works hard in defence. Get involved, runs good lines and gives some sweet offloads. Cayless, Hindmarsh, Riddell, Morrison arn't the players we should be looking at. Guys like Vella, Robinson, Stringer, Cannings, Tsoulos, Widders, Wagon, Afasamaga, Mateo and so on are going to have a bigger impact on parramatta's season.

Cayless needs to be there. He is our leader and when he is there we seem to have a bit more to play for. He motivates the boys and as a forwards gives us a bit of go forward and 2nd phase play. We havnt seen nothing of him in the past 2 seasons.

Robinson does do well. He is a strong runner at times but is more a worker forward than a big hitter. He will do us well from the bench Iam guessing.

i think people have begun to forget about the value of having Nathan Cayless on the field.....he will be back better than never in 05

and Pazza....if we sign Leualui, i think he might take 5/8 from Morris and Johnny might end up being the bench utility with PJ at half, so yes, we might have a less experienced player at 5/8 outside of PJ to sort of "go nuts" while Pj does most of the organising....ala Gower and Presto at Penrith?????

and HRVSTKA......i don't think its silly to list Burt asa the utility on the ebcnh....he could well end up there, i mean he can play any number of positions and is good from dummy half??? worth a thought???

Players that have been/played injured in 2004 and can be expected to make better contributions in the squad for 2005:
Cayless, Cannings, Graham, Grothe, Prince, Tsoulos.

Players whose form really needs to lift in 2005:
Burt (if played in his best position on the wing), Vella.

From an outsiders perspective, I'll give it a whirl

1 McKinnon - still has a couple of brain explosions, but a pretty good performer better than he was in his younger years
2 Grothe - top talent
3 Burt - goal kicker
4 Tahu - wants to play centre
5 Peterson - sideshow attraction
6 Morris - done a good job for the club in trying circumstances
7 PJ Marsh - me old mate, GO PJ!
8 Nathan Cayless - captain courageous
9 Riddell - effective
10 Vella - don't ask me why
11 Hindmarsh - first selected
12 Morrison - second selected
13 Wagon - good defender

Bench

Robinson - solid performer with good footwork for a back rower
Stringer - size and a decent work ethic
Cannings - could be anything, but he's got to start showing it consistently
Widders - ballplayer

I think Marcus Perenara is next cab off the rank for the halves. Justin Tsoulos I rate as a kid with potential, he's the next forward in for me. Henry Perenara has good ball skills and would be the next backrower.

If there's some better direction coaching wise, top 6 side in 2005

that's a mighty fine side Iafeta, but I would start Cannings and have Micky V coming off the bench.

Iafeta.....

your outsiders perspective is both welcomed and possibly very accuarate :D

good side and probably the most likely scenario, however, with the goings on at Parra absolutely anything could happen between now and then, so who knows???

16 Prop
17 Prop

dead right UTE and really i do at least agree with him on this point  lol

even though some get away with not going this way and perhaps we could have got away with it in the past, but not with Piggy.....

you do need a utility player, particularly now that we Riddell at hooker and you need someone to do something in the forwards (or in the backs if neccessary) with the ball when he comes on.....ie. Deano Widders

and you need two props or big forwards to come on and keep the floe going and keep the pack rolling forward....but who will it be for Parra????

14. Morris, Henderson, Perenara, Mateo, Marsh, Wagon????
15. Widders
16. Robinson
17. Cannings, Stringer, Vella, Tsoulos, MoiMoi, Peek???

will be interesting to see, but i think Widders and Robinson do pick themselves based on unpredictability and consistency, respectively
