hey guys, i've been reading this forum for a little while now and
thought i'd have a go. i play a bit of fantasy league and i'm not
sure if you have already done this but i thought it would be
interesting to get everyones opinion of what their sharks team
would look like for next year if they were the coach and in charge of
recruitment. i've often seen names thrown around in here as
potential sharks players so heres your opportunity to name your top
25 squad for next year. so to make it realistic, when choosing your
team take into consideration the salary cap, which i think is still
4.1 mil for next year, and let us assume all players are available to
buy and to put in to any position. heres mine:
1. greg inglis
2. jason nightingale
3. ben pomeroy
4. chris lawrence
5. michael gordon (g/k)
6. greg bird (c)
7. cooper cronk
13. paul gallen
11. anthony tupou (if he wasnt comming to the shire next year then
i wouldve gone for luke o'donnell)
12. reece williams
8. brett white (i'm probably going to get crucified for this but this
guy is an inexpensive, tough and uncompromising genuine front
rower, ask yourself this: if your team were struggling to get out of
their own 10, who would you give the ball to? ben ross or brett
white?
10. luke douglas
9. blake green (i would love to have cam smith but you cant have
everyone, so i've gone for the next best option imo)
14. kade snowden
15. dave taylor
16. michael greenfield (ashton sims was one guy who i wanted in
my 17 to give me another option in the back row but as i chose
tupou over o'donnell in the end i couldnt squeeze him under the
cap. but both taylor and greenfield have excellent foot work and
ball skills for front rowers so they could fill a void if needed)
17. brett kearney
18. bryan norrie
19. jacob selmes
20. beau champion
21. chase stanley
22. mitch brown
23. bryson goodwin
24. ben orcher
25. matt wright (wait till you see this guy play!)
i'm far from certain but i think i'm pretty close to staying within the
cap. i'm a little shy in the back row department but if injuries are
kind to me than all would be good, any more than 2 second rowers
out at one time and i could be up poo creek.
