Best 5 - I'll try and go only once for a band, because there are numerous bands ive seen multiple times, however have to expand to 5 bands.
1 - Frenzal Rhomb @ Factory Theatre, January 2007
Best concert I've been to, and best of the 7 times I've seen this band. I was underage, somewhat drunk, and in their hour long set Frenzal rhomb played about 25 songs, absolutely brilliant night featuring some of my favourite, no barricade or security in front of the stage, got on stage and stage dived during kaan kaant and probably the most fun I've had. Hangover the next day was dreadful though.

They have to play that many songs as they only go for a couple of minutes each.. :sarcasm:

I have caught them live a number of times, best one i saw was a very small club in a small town in central queensland where they played with Bantha Fodder and Toe to Toe. No barricades at this one either. Was a great night.

Best Shows:

1. Pearl Jam - 1998, Brisbane EntCent - during the Yield tour. A great band in their prime.
2. Radiohead - 2004, Sydney/Melbourne - all three shows were stunning. Can't pick one because all of the shows had standouts...
3. Ben Harper - 2000, Sydney - Triple J L@TW show, Ed Vedder played 'Indifference' with Ben. Unbelievable.

Worst:

Dandy Warhols - early 2000's, Metro - the audience pissed them off and they never really got going
Cat Power - early 2000's, Metro - She lost the plot and went in to the foetal position on stage. Intriguing however makes for a sh*t gig.
White Stripes - BDO 2001(?) Sydney - never lived up to the hype, left part way through.

Still jammed alot in and played with such intensity, and a wide ranging setlist, was good fun

Best: Foo Fighters 2008 at Acer, amazing gig, Dave Grohl is an amazing performer.

Worst: Paul Dianno 2009 at Manning Bar, boring as bat sh*t, an overrated, overweight, bitter old bastard trying to perform, and just couldn't get anything going.

lol, exactly where i saw them. We were saying the band sucked but we'd do the chick and then heard someone else saying the same thing lol

On a side note Jim left Pennywise!

WTF?
ah well. ive seen em twice live. both great shows.

havnt really produced a good album in a while.

yeah that night at the roundhouse i only caught 2 minutes of it. there was a strange moment that night where i was walking in, showed the guy my licence, clearly stated i was under 18 and he gave me a "you can drink" wristband anyway!.

awesome!

Best.
Pink Floyd (No Waters but didn't miss him)
Queen (Freddie was just amazing)
Deborah Conway (What a voice !)

i forgot i saw the queen concert as well but though i am a huge fan i think they should have done a pink floyd and augmented with more musicians to try to recapture some of the 'clever bits' they were masters at in the studio

Officially jealous of you both!
I would die a happy man if I got to see Queen live in my lifetime (even a Queen minus Freddie). I'd be happy just to see Brian May live in concert. He came and toured Australia solo in 1998, but the venue he played here in Perth was an 18+ venue (and they weren't allowing anyone younger than 18 in), and I was 17yrs-6months. Most frustrating part of that for me was at the same time that he was here playing in a 18yrs or over venue, the Big Day Out with Marilyn Manson (among others) was in town, which was an open ages gig.

I'm still gutted to this day that I missed out on seeing the great man because of a mere 6 months.

Best

Alice Cooper - Newcastle Entertainment Centre in Aug 09. A decent support act (Eletric Mary), guilotines, swords, hangings, killings, a legend of rock and a hot chick in a nurse outfit keen on showing everyone her knockers. What more could you want???

Worst

Evermore - Etihad Stadium in Jun 09. Prelude to Origin down in Victoriania. Let's just say they aren't my cup of tea.

Looking forward to Wolfmother at the GF and ACDC/Wolfmother in Feb which should make it into the "best" list

I hated Electric Mary actually. Thought they were awful, the lead singer pissed me off with his attempt at humour.
Oh, you also forgot the needle, zombies and the amazing music.

I have seen both ACDC and wolfmother .
Lets just say that ACDC will wipe the floor with them.
acca dacca are one of the greatest live bands ever.

I rate the living end much higher than Wolfmother and they supported ACDC .
I felt sorry for them ...they got slaughtered .

Yeah i saw them twice also, good shows. Their last 4 albums have been pretty sh*t tho, but apparently they are going to continue with a new singer. Could be pretty awful!

The Living End appeared to be well received at the concert in Brisbane. It goes without saying that ACDC will be much better than Wolfmother. How often would you go to a gig of one of the biggest bands in the world and expect the support band to be at the same kind of level?

LE supported the stones and were superb.

I saw wolfmother headline a gig...they were average.

ACDC won't be doing them any favours sound wise.
They will get demolished.
f**king demolished.

stockdale will probably start crying.

I don't get what point you are actually trying to make here..

It's not a competition between the two and no one would be going there expecting wolfmother to be anywhere near ACDC.

I am not going this time so i won't get to make judgement.. LE did well with what they had i thought. They wern't as loud that's for sure but that's probably a good thing.. My ears were ringing for a while after the concert as it was.. Definately the loudest concert i have seen still to this day.
