Parramatta has always strived for success but the club seems to have a mantra of Stability can breed success.

For every year that Dennis Fitzgerald has been at the club, the club has run at a profit and the football club has always been able to secure a grant from the leagues club, except in 1986 when the football club turn it's only ever profit off . . . . Anyone, Any Answers,

$555,333

At which time Denis said that the football club would no longer need a grant from the leagues club. The year after the football club were granted a little bit over that amount because of the poor season.

Some of the successes of Fitzgerald have been at the expense of what some people would say was our Football Dynasty.

Stuff like,
* Redesigning the leagues club instead of buying players
* Creating a new company for the NRL club under the leagues club to underwrite all required funding.
* Staying with the ARL
* Ensuring the club was financially stable

As well our club has changed over the past 30 years and Denis has ensured we cashed in on a few phenomena, like the Ability and Ready cash that the Asian population of Parramatta have.

Seriously has anyone noticed the Golden Budda right beside the wishing tree as you enter into the complex? Small things ensure that the club continues to make money and perform it’s to main functions,

1 Provide Services to Members
&
2 Support Rugby League in the Parramatta District.

Denis no matter if you like his Ideas or not, has lead the club though some lean times and some great times.

Denis's Position as CEO means he is the First Employee of the club. The Board of Directors (which represent the majority of voting members) employees the CEO and then the CEO employees other people like the Director of Football (Greg Mitchell)

The Parramatta CEO Position would have the following goals.

Ensure the Smooth operation of all subsidiaries of the PLC

Ensure the Financial Stability of the PLC and all its subsidiaries.

Help Ensure the Goals of the PLC and its subsidiaries are meet for the benefit of its members.

22-16 is correct. I still have theCorner Post from Parra Stadium that I had signed by the entire Eels & Gt Britain sides. I will always remember Elery Hanley and Martin Offiah laughing about how it was the most unusual thing they had ever been asked to autograph. I also have the fully signed programme. That was the same night that the Aussie Cops, played the Pommy Cops and the aussies smashed the poms. Geoff & Mark Bugden both played in the Aussie cops side and mark was sin binned for a head high and then later in the game copped another 10 for fighting.

The struggling Eels were the only NSWRL Team to beat the Poms during that tour - only the aussie side matched the eels.

Trivia..

Which Eels player was the first ever to score a 4 point try???
Choices: Graeme Atkins, Peter Sterling, Brett Kenny, Michael Cronin, Tony Cosato or Steve Ella

and

In what year?

yes i remember that manly game. was funny though cos we could boast that we could beat an international side but not a club side.

And the funnier thing was that the GB side was near full strength.!!!

Thats who lost their districts to us. But that is not the answer.

well we basically gave away the Penrith district to the Panthers when they came in at 1967!
