I asked Hages at the forum night why he intended to go after a bloke like Brad Drew at the age of 33 when we could re-siogn Marty Mitchell who was playing well in the NSW cup and his response was, well Drew has 300 games of first grade experiance behind him, i should of said, well Vic Hay played a few 100 first grade games also but you'd be a f**kwitt to ask him out of retirement wouldn't you??

Strange that. Hagan made a game plan revolving around running a Drew, Taylor and Buetner in the 2001 GF. Why would you buy someone who you yourself knows is a poor defender and people can get to him? Especially when he is 7 years past his prime.
