Excellent call on Shaun Berrigan. He'd walk into just about any club.Wing or one of the most underrated players in history Shaun Berrigan.
Luke Lewis was also pretty special

I would not quite call Lewis a "utility". He played in a lot of positions during his career and was pretty bloody versatile. He mostly played a centre/second row type role. Awesome player.Wing or one of the most underrated players in history Shaun Berrigan.

The Elliott Panther years were very dark, to the point where Luke Lewis was our starting 7I would not quite call Lewis a "utility". He played in a lot of positions during his career and was pretty bloody versatile. He mostly played a centre/second row type role. Awesome player.
And was better than Luke Walsh. The Elliott Panther years were very dark, to the point where Luke Lewis was our starting 7
At his peak Michael Morgan was way too good to be a bench utility.I don't think there are many decent pure utility players in rugby league.....especially a utility back. No way on Earth would I pick Douhei on a bench....he either starts or plays reserve grade.
But, there is room for a good utility to play rugby league.....there are just not many true good ones about. A backs type utility could force one of the starting backs to have a stint in the forwards. But, Im with you in that I'd rarely have a utility unless that utility can do a job at dummy half or make a lot of tackles.
I rate Connor Watson as a decent utility. He can play dummy half well and is deceptively tough and can make a lot of tackles. Watson can fill in a lot of positions....he even played lock at Newcastle last year and was pretty decent at it.
Craig Wing and John Plath were also excellent utilities. Wing is probably the best utility I've ever seen....deadly at dummy half but also a dangerous runner in many other positions. John Plath may well be the most versatile player that I've ever seen. Master at no positions....but could bloody fill in anywhere at a moment's notice and do a serviceable job. He often did hooking duties when no injuries were around.
The best downhill skier in the game.Mitchell Moses
And big enough to do a job in the forwards. At his peak Michael Morgan was way too good to be a bench utility.
alhough he did get selected there for Qld a few times
could seamlessly slot in at
7…6…4…3…or 1.
lol@PawwaNathan Cleary
Yeo should be the sole Penrith captain making Nathan co-captain stinks of nepotism
Best half your club has ever had. I'll die on this hill he carried JTAt his peak Michael Morgan was way too good to be a bench utility.

No one except Brad Arthur has rated Jake.Nathan Cleary or Jake Arthur
at least you'll have that hill all to yourselfBest half your club has ever had. I'll die on this hill he carried JT
Sounds like a Tyrone May situation, although Frog will tell us Tyrone would still be in Penrith's best 17 on merit today. No one except Brad Arthur has rated Jake.
Dylan Brown stuck up for him. But only because he's sticking it to his sister.
Nahat least you'll have that hill all to yourself
How many stand out games has he really had at Origin level though? At club level?
Kayln Ponga and i don't think it's close.
Barely plays, when he does, phones it in half the time. Is the captain of the club and one of the worst on field leaders i've ever seen. He's treated like he's the guy the knights have to build around and he's doing all he can but needs more help. The reality is he's one of the biggest problems at that club. Too talented to give up on but has shown no reason to believe he's a player worth building around at club level
f**king brilliant Origin player though!
Tricky one. The calls for him to be the 14 for NSW are laughableRyan Paps by a country mile
