Your new buys

Simoin lokk at me. look at me, look at me Simoin, I have one word for you SimoinForwards. (could resist doing a take from Kath & Kim). You claim the Tigers buys are better than the eels. Lets run through the list will I. Scott Prince (please tell me when he has played SOO) two broken legs and has mainly played for the Toowoomba side of the last few years when he is not injured. Very small and will have trouble in defence. Scott Sattler, good old Satts will be remebered for one tackle and a beauty it was. Good solid honest toiler and just about finished - a bit like Pearson if you ask me, getting a good retirment bonus from the Tigers. Todd Payten has played more reserve grade than 1st grade. Only just made the bench at Roosters and that was because Cusack was injured or it would have been another year unfulfilled. Ben Renyolds, pleease this guy only ever plays reserve grade. Nuff said. Shane Elford, centre, wing or lock. Another reserve grade signing - good one tigers. Brett Hodgson probably your best buy. Now if Hodgo can only stay on the park, build some confindence and pray that the Tigers can find some form then maybe?? Don't forgot his form for 1 1/2 years has been crap. Pat Richards, reserve grade player again. Never rated this guy and unless his form dramatically changes never will. Slow for a winger and dsefensively he is shocking. Nick Graham, sacked from the Sharks because he offers nothing. Looking through your side next year you lack depth, size (all over the park) and speed. So the Tigers have bought 1 regular first grader and 1 first grader that is regularly injured.

Simon says, i would be curious to know what the tigers forward depth looks like for next season and if the tigers forwards in your opinion match up to Parramatta's?

I wouldn't say that Nick Graham was sacked for having nothing. Nick Graham and Dean Treister were sacked for daring to tell the incumbent Australian Coach that his flat style of attack wasn't working at Cronulla.

They were right and Anderson is now looking for full time work.

Ask Cronulla supporters if they'd like him back?

Also, if I remember correctly, Wayne Bennett tried to talk him out of going to the Tigers. Would you consider Wayne Bennett a good judge?

Wayne Bennett would have got Graham a lot cheaper than what the Tigers payed for Graham but would have plaY yed little 1st grade at eh Broncos. As for Anderson he is still the current Australian coach that took one of the most inexperienced teams over the england and beat the Poms 3-0. The reason why he dropped Treister and Graham and one simple reason - they can't play. The flat style seemed to have worked in 2002 for the same players. Tell me would like Nick Graham starting in your side? Where would you play him at the Tigers? Please tell me?

Jic, JT came to the Eels on a pittance where Hodgo is going to the Tigers as a messiah and costing them around $300,000 a year. For that sort of money he better perform where JT came to the Eels on a year contract where everybody criticized his singing - he had nothing to lose. Totalling different in my opinion.

And eels1986, Wests Premier League was 2 minutes from the GF last year and a few Juniors were blooded to Grade and some to First Grade. It's not just the signings that we're excited about, it's guys like Benji Marshall, Robbie Farah and Dene Halatau blossoming after tasting FG last year that is exciting.

Todd Payten is a fair size as are Skando and Laffranchi. Sattler, Graham, O'Neill, Galea and Senter are a decent size and are all all pretty mobile. And that's just the names you've probably heard.

Mate, you're losing it. The flat style of play, as everyone knows was outdated with the incoming of the Roosters new defensive strategy. It didn't take rival coaches long to use it against Cronulla, including yours.

Should I decry your signing of Pearson? I certainly know a lot more about him than you. But I think Corey is a good player and will be a good buy. But if I had the choice between him and Nick Graham, I'd take Graham.

Nick Graham would be a starter in most NRL sides.

I repeat, go to the Sharks Forum and ask if they'd like him and Treister back.

Sattler, Graham, Galea and Senter are all failry small fowards. Remeber only 1 can play lock and I think Sattler will do that. Senter is not a good 2nd rower he is too small. Same for Galea, both those players will be vying for hooker. Lets say Skandallis gets injured there is not too much depth there is there? As for Benji Marshall I will watch with interest to see how he goes. He will get a lot of teams running at him. Reminds me of Jonathon Thurston from the Bulldogs - burst onto the scene but will play plenty of reggies which won't be too bad for the young fella. You have to give him time. As I was saying I would be too exciting about who you have bought - it's pretty ordinary.

LOL

Hodgo isn't the messiah, he's just a naughty boy for leaving in the first place.

Dream on, Nick Graham would be luck to make any teams first grade. Give me five teams where you slot Nick Graham in at lock? Of course the Sharks would like him back they have no forwards. Why would you want Graham when you have Galea (good player), and Sattler to play lock and don't tell me you would play him in the 2nd row.

Well isn't Hodgo the big name player the the Tigers have signed? OK he is not the messiah but you paid way too much money for him.

So, why did you say we had no depth then?

You have no idea what you're talking about, I hope you know more about Parramatta than you do about Wests.

Stop shooting down your own arguments.

Galea Hooker? What about Farah and Mears.

There is plenty of depth. You're only talking about players that you know about and you're naming plenty of quality players. What about Viane, Paterson and O'Neill?

Benji Marshall is nothing like Thurston. Benji Marshall is Benji Marshall. We expect Sheens to bring him through slowly and hopefully with a bit less fanfare than he seems to be getting. That kid is one out of the box.

As I said Jic, the Tigers have paid a lot of money for Hodgo where JT was cheap. You have to put the two players signings in persective and money does come into it. Would you have paid $300,000 for Hodgo after the last couple of years?

i am glad you are excited, and so are we. Parramatta have some fine Juniour talent such as Chris Armit, Justin Tsoulos, Michael Witt, Ryan Hinchcliffe, Josh Dillon and Tim Smith. The future looks bright with juniours like this :D
