JUST what were Today Tonight producers thinking?
The show's host Naomi Robson has become the centre of controversy yet again after appearing just 24 hours after Steve Irwin's death outside Australia Zoo wearing an Irwin-style kahki outfit - complete with a live lizard on her shoulder.
Viewer complaints have flooded in to The Daily Telegraph saying the move "tacky'' and "insensitive.''
And in a rare victory for the Nine network, viewers appeared to switch stations with rival Nine network's A Current Affair last night overtaking Today Tonight in the official viewer ratings.
Robson has not been void of controversy throughout her career, not least with the release of two damaging blooper tapes doing the email rounds.
In one, she is caught swearing nine times in 15 seconds, calling the Today Tonight audience stupid and laughing at fat people.
She was also accused of being a prima donna during the Beaconsfield mining disaster and it was this year alleged she was in a relationship with a cocaine-dealing Melbourne con man.
