Houston would be a decent starting prop alongside Snowden. Some of his runs are good when he gets a a bit of a run up.

All I know is that we need Mason coming off the bench because once he and Snowden go off, all the momentum is gone.

We need two more good props. Houston cannot play there, he is a beanpole. We have no go-forward to work with at the moment outside of Mason and Snowden and it's killing us. None of our backrowers get the side rolling forward either.

Speaking of Grant - said to be one of the players taking up huge cap space at the panthers. I'm a huge fan, he's still very young but is a very dominant prop. Not worth the 500k the panthers are rumoured to be paying him though. Perhaps if the panthers want to free up space i'd be looking at him closely to partner Snowden.

Houston never breaks the line or offloads, but he does sometimes have good leg drive in the tackle. Lock definitely suits his game the most ... I wouldn't mind him at prop either.

Houston was looking to offload or pass a few times yesterday when he ran back into the middle. Nobody wanted it!

I like the bloke but that is f**king insane. What the f**k has been going on there? Jennings on a gazillion and now Grant on half a mill???

Grant 27 tackles/game vs Snowden 27 (equal)
Grant 138m per game vs Snowden 119
Grant 17 rans/game 8m each vs Snowden 15runs/game 8m each

Scott's stats are about the same (worse than Grant's) and he has a monster pack.
Tamou is ahead in all fields slightly.
Petro is far behind snowy
Hennant makes more tackles but less runs for less metres per run than snowy

Stats only show half a story, but i think they paint a pretty good picture for both those guys. Snowy makes as many metres per run as grant and 8m/run is pretty good for someone 'too slow to get over the advantage line'. Snowy has averaged a tiny bit less work in attack but he as also done it over 11 games (to Grants 5).

Either way I think both deserve a wrap given the packs they are in. Stats don't say everything but in this case they say Snowy is doing his job at a high level in bad circumstances. And imo they put him on the top shelf. I do understand completely the arguments for him being below though and i think we will agree to disagree on this one

All good.

I like a good stat but for mine just watching these two tells the story.

That said I do agree Snowden would be better with a big bopper banging the ball up with him. That's a given. However, I expected more from him with the ball in hand than what he has delivered in this side with these players. He was signed on good coin and the expectation was he would lead this pack.

I believe it was reported a couple of weeks ago (Tele/Smh) there was more than 2 million in cap space been taken by Jennings, McKendry, Grant and Gordon due to huge back ended deals in 2012/13.

Joey said on footy show this morning Mullo to halfback, Boyd to 5/8 (with I guess Wes to fullback).

I think it's worth a shot, Roberts doesn't seem to have much, and while Mullo is a better 5/8 we need someone with direction at half. I also think the more Boyd can get involved, the better and more confident he will become.

FWIW

1. Darius Boyd
2. James McManus
3. Junior Sa'u
4. Timana Tahu
5. Akuila Uate
6. Jarrod Mullen
7. Tyrone Roberts
8. Kade Snowden
9. Danny Buderus
10. Willie Mason
11. Chris Houston
12. Zeb Taia
13. Neville Costigan

14. Chris Adams
15. Zane Tetevano
16. Adam Cuthbertson
17. Kyle O'Donnell

I actually don't think our starting lineup is *that* bad. Our problems come when we have to delve into our bench after 15-20 minutes...

I was thinking the same this afternoon. No, I hadn't seen the Footy show. Johns stole my idea.

It would get Boyd more involved and Wes is a capable fullback and a great kicker to replace Roberts. Worth a try.
