Boyd is a slightly better and very much overpaid version of Shannon McDonnell - but he doesn't seem to come into the attack as much as Shannon.

Yeah, righto

Stick to watching the juniors play on run down fields in the middle of bumf**k nowhere, old man, because you obviously have no idea about first grade football.

Boyd will come good. As the old saying goes, form is temporary but class is permanent

Where did people form the opinion that Mcdonnell was safe? He was quite unreliable... made shocking errors. Boyd and Mcdonnell share no similarities (perhaps hair colour?) in quality or style of play. It is an odd comparison to make

That's roopy at his best. A senile old fart who thinks that every single player born in the hunter and raised through the Knights system is the best player ever and guaranteed immortal status.

No-one with half a brain cell would even contemplate comparing Boyd to McDonnell. Theyre in completely different stratospheres as players.

Ian if we don't beat Penrith then we are in serious trouble. They are terrible. Another of our great local products we should have kept according to some, leading them like a blind man without his golden retreiver. Gidley is not in Boyd's postcode for class. I have heard some serious turn it ups here but that will do me. I dare anyone here to walk up to the average punter and repeat the Gidley > Boyd statement in public. Go ahead. You will be laughed at deluxe. A Churchill medal winner FFS! Please. Also the incumbent test fullback albeit after Slater injured himself. Form is temporary but class is permanent.

Hence why we can't afford to take them lightly. We should put them to the sword. Then again we should've put Parramatta to the sword as well

Gidley 2011 > Boyd 2012.

Boyd has not had a good game for us. And last Friday was his worst game for us...

I am not advocating moving Boyd, but let's be realistic - on form, we have taken a step backwards in the #1 jersey.

At any rate, what we need is a shock weapon at forward.

I hear there is this local junior looking for a club. He hasn't played in a little while, but the last time he played he was a weapon.

Mac I doubt many disagree with your Mason theory. What damage could it do to our go forward? Could be the master signing of the year. The other way it could go is all paper speculation. and the usual blah blah blah. That bloke with a point to prove would be something to watch.

We need a big unit prepared to roll up his sleeves consistently

Mason is one of those two things.

I don't think they'll delay getting Mason into first grade.

The rangas and Cuthbertson need a NSW cup spell to learn how to play 20 minutes of mistake free football.

Hilder should retire - offers nothing - Costigan has looked twice as good as him playing hooker FFS.

Naiqama and Gidley straight back in. Roberts as bench utility.

Tets or Mason to be used outwide to give us a real strike backrower - we sorely miss having one.

Hahaha! Well said.

I'd really like to see Costigan to the prop rotation, House to lock and McKinnon and Taia in the second row. Mason would have to be completely unfit at the moment - surely.

i'd wager Mason is fitter than 90% of the comp, he's been undergoing grueling one on one sprint, distance and weight training for 6 months now. Perhaps short of match fitness, but certainly not unfit by any stretch. Latest pics i've seen show him to look the leanest he's been since his teenage years, about 112kg i'd imagine.

maybe something like that? who knows. Mason in the team changes things. i would definitely be rushing him straight in. as RABK has said, he has been training outside of footy. he shouldn't be too unfit. Hilder only in for lack of options to give Bedsy a break. Costigan on the bench may be a solution to that.

Well that sounds a bit different to something I was told only a few weeks ago. Hoping that mail was completely wrong then.
