It's the offseason, so it's a normal offseason kinda thread.

My criteria players I remember apart from Big Arty who is a God!!!!
Mini
Sing
Jennings
Lydon
SKD
Fittler
Hastings
McGahan
Fitzgibbon
SBW
JWH
Friend
Beetson

Wing
Morley
Salvotori
Ricketson

I nearly found room for a player like Elsegood on the wing who was very underrated with us but did the job.

My team has a slightly different slant, this is a team of players i feared whenever souths come up against them, again only with players I've seen (with a biased to newer players as they've been the thorn in the side of a competive souths team over the last few years)

1. Minichiello
2. RTS
3. Jennings
4. Ferguson
5. SKD
6. Fittler
7. Maloney (i know he doesn't play 7 for you's, but he's been the most dangerous recent half)
8.JWH
9. Wing (friend is great but wing was more dynamic and dangerous in attack)
10. Morley
11. Fitzgibbon
12. SBW
13. Ricketson

14. Friend
15. Moa
16. Napa
17. Cordner

sensible idea going with who you've seen - we really can't say if Joe Pearce and Andy Norval from the 30s were better than Hughie, or Fitzy.

Don't really like Hodges there, but there's not much alternative so he'll have to do. Maybe SKDsy into centres, and bring in a winger?

Like seeing Lydon in a team. And Hughie is deserving of a place in a modern era Greatest Roosters side. Amazing that the likes of Fletch can't make these teams

Of the Roosters that I've seen, 1999 - present...

1. Minichiello
2. Mullins
3. Jennings
4. SKD
5. RTS
6 Fittler (c)
7. Maloney
8. Morley
9. Friend
10. JWH
11. Fitzgibbon
12. SBW
13. Ricketson

14. Moa
15. Cayless
16. Cordner
17. Wing

I couldn't include Hodgo because of his effort in the 2004 GF. Both he and Walker disgraced the jersey that day. Give me that one amazing season from Mullo any day; not to mention his love for the RWB.

Hard to beat, but not sure about Sing. Kerry bousted doesn't get a mention anywhere, but he was sensational for us. Ricko should be there somewhere too, but not sure where.

I love SKDsy, but would have to pick John Brass ahead of him as a centre, especially if paired with Mark Harris. And no SBW?

again, no Sonny-Bill? I do like the idea of Mark Harris on the wing to accommodate DallyM & Brown in the centres. Never heard of Oxford, but judging from his bio he was a handy player

yeah, that second wing spot is problematic. Bevan and Offiah were great wingers who didn't really show that form here. Lionel Cooper is in our team of the century but i know nothing about him. For me Boustead gets forgotten behind Fairfax and Schuey of the same era. Maybe their equal, but for some reason not as prominent in my eyes

I have chosen two teams: the best (TEAM A) and the second best (TEAM B).

I have only included players I have actually seen, either in person or in extensive videos. I have given people who represented Australia, New Zealand or Great Britain their due, rather than choose less distinguished competitors.

I would remind the kids on here that Kerry Boustead was a brilliant State of Origin and Kangaroo winger. Also "Slippery" Steve Morris (father of Josh and Brett Morris) won a premiership for St. George in 1979, his debut year, at half back, before switching to winger in 1984 and later moving to the Roosters).

Finally, to the slow witted on this forum, you cannot choose a team that does not include an Immortal.

TEAM A:

Anthony Minichiello

Kerry Boustead, Mark Harris, Michael Jennings, Bill Mullins,

Brad Fittler
Kevin Hastings

Ron Coote
Craig Fitzgibbon, Sonny Bill Williams,
Arthur Beetson, Jake Friend, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves

Interchange: Craig Wing, Adrian Morley, Jim Morgan, Boyd Cordner,

TEAM B:

Russell Fairfax,

Joe Lydon, John Brass, Blake Ferguson, Matt Sing,

James Maloney
Johnny Mayes

Luke Ricketson,
Hugh McGahan, Aiden Guerra
Craig Salvatori, Elwyn Walters, Neville "Boxhead" Charlton.

Interchange: "Slippery" Steve Morris, Sam Moa, Jason Cayless, "Bunny" Reilly

basically, the Team of the Century, plus Mini and Fitzy. Solid

if you can't pick a team without an immortal, why does Team B not have one? thought you mentioned your silly rule so you could include Bozo. Oh, and two quality teams, even if Morgan and Charlton are unfamiliar to me

No SBW.

SBW had immense pride in our jumper
