If Lomax is the best fullback they should pick him there without a doubt. Gutherson will be a pretty good centre or winger.

I think Gutho will stay an Eel in 2025 if a club doesn't want to give him a contract with the duration he wants. Same situation RCG seemed to be in with offers he was fielding?

I'm glad we haven't offered a Parra contract for 2026 or beyond. Gutho somehow got through this season at fullback but his body looked to be on thin ice. I like the plan to play him at #9/#13/#14 for say 60mins a game, if Gutho wants to stay/see out his Eels contract.

No he won't. I reckon he is gone.

I think it would depend on the price. He will only be 33 at the end of 2027, and he is very professional in his rehab and conditioning.
And he probably isnt getting any slower. Good points actually.
We should see if he would stay on a 3-year deal at $500k per.

I think as more impressed by Nanva.
A year older than Alameddine, and played the same amount of reserve grade (2 games). His reserve grade form wasn't as good as Alameddine's, though the samples are so small they don't mean much. Overall it's not a meaningful difference, but leaning toward Alameddine having more potential of the two.

You should leave the lower grades stuff to the posters who actually watch it.

Don't trust amateurs watching lower grade footy. The data I look at is more reliable than anything those merkins are looking at. They are emotionally invested and have no proven ability to spot talent. The people whose opinions matter are the ones who are paid to make decisions regarding the players. They are the ones who pick the players in rep teams and promote them within the lower grades. They are the ones who offer the players contracts. All this tells a story that amateur talent spotters watching lower grade footy miss. They are fooled by kids playing against other kids, and all the sideline politics that go with it.

The same data that told you Liam Martin had a poor performance in the grand final???

33 is ancient for an outside back/fullback in todays game. The only outside backs in the entire NRL who are 34 years or older at the moment are Michael Jennings and Jordan Rapana.
Gutherson isn't an outside back, he is a spine player. That's why Ryles is looking at moving him into the middle (hooker or 'lock') rather than centre.

When did say he was poor in the grand final? He won the Clive Churchill medal, so he was at least in the top half dozen. A couple of big plays is all it takes to impress Clive Churchill voters. I thought Cleary, Edwards and Yeo all contributed more.
