I also don't believe that Bart doesn't know who Brent Read is.
Me either.
What you blokes believe is your business/problem. But I don't watch NRL360, and generally don't look at who writes the few sports article links that I click on.

Brett Reed has thus far escaped my list of known league journos - which is basically just Danny Weidler, Adrian Proshenks, and that Michael Chiabatti guy.

Agree and I don't think Ready's analysis is right. PVL will move on fairly quickly from this.
Lets be honest even if he was right.

Its not like toeing the line and being good boys to the NRL has got us any favours in the last 10-15 years.

If we pissed off the NRL here its not like were going to lose out where we haven't before.

Like we have been shafted at the Judiciary plenty of times with suspensions that just shake my head.

Its about time we become a ruthless club on & off the field and this saga has shown we have finally became a ruthless club who won't take a backward step off the field.

Now its time to show it on the field.

Poor Corey should check when anyone actually called Zac a criminal.

This is quite possibly one of the dumbest articles I’ve ever read. No surprises as to who wrote it.

See Corey, the thing about all those other players that got “second, third, fourth chances” is that it benefited the teams to whom they were contracted to have them still playing.

Zac has a contract with Parra, but as it stands right now it benefits Parra in no way to have him playing.

I cant take Ch 7's foray into league seriously for as long as that goose is a part of it.

I think people such as PVL and Brent Read have completely overestimated how much ‘the fans’ want to see Lomax back in the game.

Most fans couldn’t give a shit. All I’m hearing is that that don’t want him back and he’s welcome to run off to the sport he was originally ditching League for in the first place.

Zac Lomax didn’t care about Rugby League. Why should Rugby League care about him.

Lomax was dumb is so many ways.

1. Playing like shit in the second half of 2025, after he screwed up at Origin II.
2. Threw away his Eels contract after deciding to chase rugby union, but before he had any guaranteed R360 (or other) income.
3. Buying that $4mil house during this period when he has no guaranteed income
4. When R360 was delayed, didn't seem to stick to his decision to pursue rugby union by immediately signing with a rugby club here (or maybe overseas overseas).
5. Allowed himself to be convinced by another NRL club that he was a chance of just ignoring the conditions of his release from his Eels contract, and being allowed to play NRL in 2026 without that club stumping up an equivalent football benefit for the Eels.

He's been following some very very bad advice across the board, and just seems too dumb to realise it.

At the end of the day the reason Zac isn't playing this weekend is cause he has completely destroyed his reputation as a professional.

He'd have no lack of suitors if he could be considered trustworthy.
The NRL / clubs should do a better job educating the players between the age of 18-25. I would insist on them having second careers and spending 3 days a week at them (Uni or TAFE would be the best a trade would be too difficult on the body in combination with training - doing a teaching degree would be ideal)

If I was Parra I would see about if he wants to go to Souths Sydney and in return we get their gun young outside back Dayne Jennings.

Wake up babe.. Matto has a press release out

Matterson's comments are reported in this article -

In some aspects, even allowing for the negative aspects about him in recent years, when you read the above you can understand why he said no to moving to Melbourne.

If anyone watched this, Gillis (his management) tried quite unsuccessfully to validate the reasons why Lomax walked out on the Dragons and then the Eels. The first was that he was promised to play fullback and the second was that BA was moved on.

Thems red flags for any organisation.
It was a sickening watch.

Concerningly, there was still a smugness, like there is more to come from their end that won't be good for Parra.

PVL is starting to behave a tad irrational now.
He got beat. He don't like that. Hopefully he's just trying to save face. I don't think he's the type of guy that just tears up his betting slips and throws them in he bin. Double or nuffin?
Dangerous prick.
