We don't need to go from 80 min Hindy to zero.
I think it is time that Hindy starts getting a rest through the half, lets see SK use the bench better.

i defended hindy for years about people saying half his tackles are flops or 2nd or 3rd man in but from i have seen in 2011 and 12 they are right. Also forwards run at him because his tackles don't hurt, he just grabs them and wrestled them to the ground.
This year seems like it's a right off anyway so let see out the season in first grade as captain then give him a huge send off in rd26. Gold Watch and thanks for the memories.

Half of every player's tackles are second man in. Forwards don't run at him, Hindmarsh is just always in the position to take the next tackle, because he follows the play around.

Hindmarsh barely touched the ball on Friday but he still looked more dangerous than Lasalo, which to be honest isn't hard to do.

not trying to bag Hindy - he is a freaking LEGEND - but the story about himj flopping into tackles as the 2nd, 3rd (hell sometimes even 4th) man in is a valid observation. he has been doing this for a few years. however, he is still (currently) a contributing member to the team.....no doubt

Flopping is good if u dont get caught. Slows the play the ball and most importantly stops the offloads which the opposition has been going crazy against us recently

'flops' are a penalty. 2nd man in is often simultaneous with the 1st man in, since that's how coaches want them to tackle these days. The only time Hindmarsh comes in as 3rd man in is when a tackle needs to be shut down. It's stupid to say that 2nd man in is a flop.

Agreed.

Third man in isn't as physical as the bloke who makes initial contact, but it still takes effort and it still helps your defence, and it's not a flop if it's done before the tackle is completed.

A lot of Hindy's 'flops' are also made when he's backing up as marker from the previous tackle. So often he makes 3 or tackles in a row just trying to complete the tackle to avoid a quick play the ball.

Peter can i ask who you would replace him with? Its all well and good to say he needs to be benched but practically how would you achieve that?

Why would anyone care what that fat f**k thinks? Hindy's been injured and had a virus ffs. Stick it up on the change room wall boys.

Yea Peters doesn't bother to mention that hindmarsh lost 7kg had a fever, went to NQ the next week played in the humidity, got flogged...Came back and put a whole hearted effort into the game against Penrith.

The bloke was the paul gallen of his day, he still has a huge motor, and he still has a purpose. Not only in the side putting in every week but mentoring the younger blokes. If parra are fair dinkum, they'll stick him in the front row and get 60 mins a week out of him doing hitups. Your idiot coaches from Hagan onwards have all failed to realise that he isnt a second rower, has never played like one and whenever they try and make him do it all you get is lower work rate. It was fine when he had pace and could make line breaks but that was 8 years ago, and to top it off his lateral movement isnt good enough to deal with centres running across him anymore.

Move the bloke into the front row.

His "flops" wich are not flops ARE ABOUT THE ONLY TIME WE EVER MANAGE TO SLOW DOWN THE OPPOSITIONS PLAY OF THE BALL.

Hindmarsh has played lock for about 6 seasons now. He just wears 11. 80 mins of Hindmarsh tackling is worth more than 60 minutes of Hindmarsh's hit-ups.

I don't get how everyone agrees that Hindmarsh's strength is his defence, but then some want to put him in the front row to do hit-ups? It's just weakening two positions at once!
