Bryce Cartwright "allegedly" pays side chick 50k for abortion

Lou's questions for Miss X were quite interesting.

Lou is basically alleging that Miss X was asking for the following (presumably to have an abortion)
1) $180K for "costs"
2) First class airfares and accommodation for trips to Bora Bora and Paris
3) $200K cash

Now let's give Cartwright the same benefit of the doubt everyone gave the woman first up. Doesn't that sound like she's trying to extort him out of about $400K to have an abortion?

Maybe that's the reason why Cartwright kept her at arm's length and had someone else deal with her.

Well here's the quote from Ziv

'That financial help in the early stages was a list of different items she wanted worth about $180,000,' Zivanovic told the publication.

'And in one conversation, on top of that amount, whether she was being flippant or not, sought another $200,000 in cash.'

I think you'll fine 2 is part of 1. I'm speculating, given her job, that she had to fly to these places as part of her job and for some reason couldn't go although I don't know why. Pretty costly list - although it seems the value is estimated by Lew.

In relation to the $200K given Ziv admits that it might have been flippant, my money is that it probably was.

In any event this appears to be preliminary discussions about costs between the parties, that didn't make it into the agreement. I would careful to bandy about extortion allegations though.

She would have certainly been paid nicely by the media.

The difference is she provided the hush money contract and text messages supportng her claims.
To me it seems like the fixer is just trying to make her look bad.
He needs some evidence that she tried to rip C**twright off and he needs to front up instead of hiding behind this guy.
It's pretty clear this LZ guy doesn't know what he's doing.

The text messages don't support her claims of being left with no choice but an abortion, and the hush money means f**k all.

Looks like he's giving his side of the story to me.

Cartwright doesn't need to do shit.

This is really nobodies business except for the people directly involved.

Just applying the same benefit of the doubt that Miss X got from everyone in here.

She would have certainly been paid nicely by the media.
Yep, certainly makes it easy to give that $50K to charity when the Daily Telegraph is putting another $250K in your pocket.

He should now that's it's public knowledge otherwise this LZ guy is going to make him look like a bigger dick than he already does.

The facts are that she's the only One that's provided any sort of evidence on what took place and mostly only Penrith fans think the 50K doesn't matter. He clearly paid her cause he's a top bloke.

I think it's sad that a handful of pennies fans here a defending his honour so blindly and vigorously. Just admit that he's a shit person and he stuffed up, more than likely on the back of bad advice from this LZ character.

She's provided ZERO evidence showing that she was bullied into accepting $50K to have an abortion performed, that's why the $50K doesn't matter.

I don't find it unreasonable at all that someone would financially compensate another person for undergoing such a procedure, do you? So unless the evidence suddenly appears demonstrating exactly how she was bullied into ending her pregnancy I'm going to conclude that probably the only thing that would have made her happier than taking the $50K to have a procedure she was supposedly morally opposed to would have been to get even more cash and a couple of flights around the world.

in this situation bullying would be stonewalling by Cartwright and refusal to meet and discuss by Ziv. I'd say it's arguable she was bullied/ pressured into making a decision. Maybe not a particular decision though.

That's a bit of a stretch. It looks to me like Lou was trying to keep all of their communication in writing. Unless there's a specific reason for the meeting to occur face to face that's simply being prudent, especially if she's presenting them with demands as alleged.

I mean seriously, if these text messages are the best example of relentless pressure and bullying, then I am without words. Her own words blow huge holes in her story.

Plenty of Penrith fans have said he has handled things poorly. A few have even gone as far as calling him a shit merkin as well, What LZ has come out with puts a bit of a different light on things though. The dumbest thing was him not going porn style, and her for taking a belly full. It seems to have been forgotten that she would have been well aware that he wasnt rubbered up. Who really knows though, it wouldnt be the first time in history that a rubber broke. Either way, the responsibility of conception in 50/50. She is hardly a victim in this.

That's the way I see it too, I can understand some Penrith fans defending him because of his potential.

They both seem to have copped bad advice early on and it's led to this, the only difference is she went to the media with proof to back her caims and he's ended up with Penriths version of Dennis Denuto.

Yeah, I don't follow Penrith, sorry.

On the other hand, I've seen this kind of beat up many times in the Daily Telegraph. Being followers of Rugby League it's actually quite surprising to see you all fall for it over and over again.

Also, unlike you have stated, no evidence has been produced demonstrating this "relentless pressure" she received to have an abortion.

Shit man, the story is not the pregnancy but the middle man and the childish and gutless attitude & stance by Cartwright.

Shit man, the story seems to be about whatever you want it to be about!

Just as it's her body, her decision, it's also his right to not have anything to do with the child and instead meet only the minimum level of responsibility as defined by law.

The fact that he had somebody acting on his behalf is entirely irrelevant.

I know not all Penrith fans defend him blindly and no doubt they're both equally responsible. Just seems really bad the way it's been handled on his end.

I just believe that abortions for your own interests are low, if he rolled the dice he should have manned up. Especially being as financially secure as he would be.

How do you know it was childish and gutless? Because the DT told you so.

LZ regardless of how this incident has been played out is a pretty switched on guy. It's certainly not a stretch that he has involvement with any number of young football players as a mentor, club sanctioned or otherwise. He has set himself up very well post football and a young bloke with any thoughts to their future after football would be grateful to have someone of LZ's stature giving them advise. She apparently copped the belly full in August last year? Hows this for a scenario
Phone call
LZ Hows things Bryce, great job making the semis mate. I'm sure your'e pumped to be playing in the finals. How are things going?
BC Yeah, pretty good, I am excited to be playing, I need to learn how to tackle though. I'm still having nightmares from what Tedesco did to me a few months ago.
LZ Ha ha, yeah mate, your defence is pretty sus. What else has been going on?
BC I have a bit of a problem, a few months ago I met a young lady. She wanted me to take the ferret for a run, she went alright so we hooked up again a few days later.
LZ Sounds good so far, what happened.
BC That was it she went her way & I went mine. Problem is she called me last week saying she was pregnant. I'm not sure what to do. It was a random hook up, not like a relationship or anything.
LZ Thats a bit of a worry, what are you going to do?
BC I'm not ready to be a father, I hardly know this woman.
LZ Has she said what she wants to do?
BC She is concerned about her career, as having a baby doesnt really suit her job.
LZ What does she do?
BC Sports Jurno
LZ lol. Your'e f**ked then. Shit merkins the lot of them.
BC Yeah. she has hit me up for some cash for expenses
LZ How are you going to handle it?
BC I dont know, I'm not really sure how to handle a situation like this.
LZ Do you want me to have a chat to her for you? Get an idea what she is playing at?
BC Would you? Thanks mate that would be great. Let me know what I need to do to deal with this.
LZ No worries mate. I'll keep you posted.

If that was printed in the paper would you consider it gospel?

Is there any other kind of abortion? Is it only ok if it is in the womans self interest?
