You could have 2 players selected from each club with each club's two contenders guaranteed not to compete with each other in the heats or the semi finals.

Day One: 4 heats (8 runners per heat). Top 4 in each heat go through to semi finals.

Day Two: 2 semi finals (morning); Final (afternoon).

Brisbane Broncos
: James Roberts, David Mead

Melbourne Storm: Josh Addo-Carr, Cooper Cronk

NZ Warriors: Shaun Johnson, Tuimoala Lolohea

Sydney Roosters: Mitchell Pearce, Joseph Manu

Gold Coast Titans: Jarryd Hayne, Konrad Hurrell.

Canterbury Bulldogs: Brett Morris, Josh Morris

Canberra Raiders: Jordan Rapana, Nikola Cotric

Parramatta Eels: Bevan French, Semi Radradra,/Michael Jennings

.................
other teams selections to be completed by other members of the forum.

1st place: James Roberts
2nd place: Josh Addo-Carr
3rd place: David Mead / Shaun Johnson

I'd rather see the fastest cyclists from each team compete in a 3 week (21 stage) bike race around Liverpool

legs 11

make it a race off and invite the fastest from the other codes as well......be more interesting to see the codes compete

That has happened before. Two rugby union players got first (Lachlan Turner) and second (John Grant), Jarryd Hayne was third, and Greg Inglis cam in eighth or dead last.
