He'll be the one to make way for Merrin's return you'd have to think.
You would hope... but it will be Leota.

People always hung their hat on Browne not missing tackles. But topping our missed tackle count yesterday. Giving away a penalty that cost us a try and offering no impact at all with his runs... his output just does nothing to help the team.

I doubt they change Browne. The hierarchy seem to rate him highly.

How many times did Mansour get the ball inside the attacking 20? Compare the left to the right side Blake/DWZ are flying. Just need to sort the left out.

2 tries today, 2 v Manly, Chambers and Bird both gave Peachey side a bath. It is by far our weak side. That is the issue Peachey's power running works in other positions

Once we got the backline close to last year we have gone on a run. Why change what works. Peachy's side was also the best defensively until Whare came back.

Its Peach's spot now but he's no where near the star the media thinks he is. His defence is very average and getting put into touch on the first tackle 20m out is ridiculous

The backline last year only played shit teams. The draw was almost identical to this year it is why when we stupidly went back to trying to do what worked last year we failed.

As Ivan said. He has watched every game of ours for the last 6 years. 1st half the Tigers followed the game plan and we were struggling once they stopped we got on top. Morgan, Coote and Co won't do any such thing this week.

All the attack will go to that side especially if Moylan is back. They will kick to Mansour gets players at speed running them with the hope Mansour runs in. Given it has worked before we are in trouble if we give them any ball down there

His defence would at least be a little bit better had he been allowed to play there all season which he had more than earned last season. If he improves his defence and positioning a little bit he is a very good centre.

Unless we turn him into a hooker or Griffin sudddenly decides to allow him to play big minutes in the forwards there's no over role he can play that allows him to impact the game as much as centre. Hooks not going to giving him big minutes in the forwards because we have to many other good young players who are the style he likes. Even with his occasional f**k ups and hogging we are much better with him.

The set before that Mansour was unmarked with 5 m space not passed. That is the 2 areas he needs to work on. Blake and DWZ have the right side covered and shouldn't be broken up no matter what

So the fact Mansour gets no ball is fine with you? Mansour is our best back still and gets no ball. That 2nd try of DWZ was prefect to show the understanding he and Blake have. The same can't be said for our left. If Whare can't play left then he should not be picked but regardless that side needs help

Exactly. People want to blame him for 2 of those tries. But he didnt concede the initial linebreak. He and Mansour were left covering a shitload of the field while retreating. I dont think Whare does any better in those situations... or actually Blake to be honest as whare would be on the opposite side of the field.

Whare/Blake wouldnt have tried getting around them on the first tackle and been bundled into touch. For mine that was his worst error as it was high risk play with little chance at success on tackle 1.

He should have had a double. But our idiot players stop in the line and the Tigers knew how to milk the penalty.

Browne cost us a try and got us penalised Missed 5 tackles and made a whopping 56m or whatever it was. How shit does he need to be before Akauolo and/or Kikau get a decent chance?

I'm very surprised to see you defend Peach till the death but put the boot into Browne for absolutely nothing.....

I thought we looked better with the ball this week. A little more structure. Good clean ball to the backs.

Cleary needs to learn not to get tackled on the 5th..... a simple lesson in basic maths should fix this.....

(however, when he does, Wallace should move to half for the kick).

We were playing against our old coach, he knows every one of our players inside out. Was always going to be a close one.

Mansour hasn't been close to our best back since he came back. His defense has been poor.

DWZ has been on fire.

Mansour may be our best winger, but not right now. His miss last night that lead to the try was pretty awful.

DWZ > Mansour on form.

DWZ has been amazing of late. This was a game it felt Penrith would run away with. But they did silly things. The try before halftime and the one in 2nd half. At times when panthers should of scored-Isntead of consolidating and grinding they are impatient. Cleary didn't try and force a line drop out once.
Watch moses/Norman for parra. When nothings on they go for a repeat set or have the opponents work it out of there 5mtrs and grind.
Penrith had chance to do that yesterday but instead went for the quick blow. A little more patience and they can beat most teams.

It HAS to be a coaching thing. If Griffin wanted them to be trying to get more repeat sets, you'd think he'd be able to deliver the message sometime before Round 22. I just think he's spooked them about 7 tackle sets and trusts that we can hold them in their own half after the inevitable turnover. Though we had trouble keeping the Tigers from marching upfield a lot of the time, so who knows?

Cleary gets a lot of wraps. Moses gets bagged a lot.
Moses is 3 yrs older but is so far ahead of Cleary at this stage. So much more composed. Reads the game better.
Some of Clearys choices yesterday on the last was borderline disgrace. People talk about him for origin. I mean seriously? The kid looks the goods but is very inconsistent. Surely you all can see that?

You're asking the wrong people here. There are a bunch of fans here who think he should be fast tracked into Origin next year. I mean... why? There was even one person who argued that we should dump Edwards, move Moylan back to fullback, and bring in May permanently because Cleary needs to be calling the shots in the halves by himself. Rose-colored glasses is a thing.

Three years makes a big difference. If Moses wasn't ahead of Cleary in game management, you would be surprised. And if Cleary wasn't ahead of where Moses is now three years from now, I'd be surprised as well.
