If you've watched a Bulldogs game this year you'd know Steve Turner has been one of our best (which probably doesn't mean much) He was mammoth against the Rabbletohs last week

I wouldn't have McManus play for NSW, but he's a very good club winger.

Then doesn't it become ridiculously stupid to pick him in this game.... If they want a fair dinkum trial then pick Origin-style wingers for starters- Turner and McManus are not Origin wingers.

To be fair, who else is there to choose though? Beau Ryan?

That's why CvC is kinda pointless. To many players there that will never play Origin.

Country side looks too formidable, but Hayne at no6 for City makes things interesting.

IMO it was the right decision to play Buderus, Ennis has really done nothing to deserve a representative jumper and shouldn't have even got the bench spot over Hinchcliffe.

I agree with skeepe

Ferguson should've been on the wing ahead of Morris for NSW last year IMO he's the top,e of player they need. No nonsense and a bit of niggle Morris is a powder puff

Pearce and hayne as halves pairing? Hayne needs to be somewhere in the side even injured he's one of the best players in the comp but Pearce will f**k things up and get in his way.

Hayne needs a cool headed half if he is to play five eight same with carney if he gets picked for NSW at five eight

Wallace is that guy

Can't believe King made it over Croker or another young centre.

If this is a legitimate Origin trial, King has no place.

Stuart was banging on a few weeks ago about how good Kings defense was (must have been before the Dogs game), I fear that he's in contention for a Blue jersey.

Country Origin captain Danny Buderus has been ruled out of the City Country clash in Mudgee on Sunday through injury.
The Newcastle hooker has been replaced in the starting line-up by Melbourne utility Ryan Hinchcliffe, with Canberra's Josh McCrone brought onto the bench.
Buderus' club coach Wayne Bennett had called on Country selectors to rest the 34-year-old from the match and Country officials expressed concern on Sunday that the NSW Origin veteran would not show up to camp.
The nature of Buderus' injury is yet to be explained.
Buderus has made 21 state of origin appearances, including 15 as captain, but he has not pulled on the blue shirt since leaving Newcastle for English super league outfit Leeds in 2008.
He returned to the Knights, his only NRL club, after the end of the 2011 super league season for what he says will be the final year of his career.

Hayne should not be at 5/8th. He is a halfback, and will not perform at 5/8th. Parra tried that last year and it failed horribly...

Interesting to note though, the half when Hayne failed at 5/8th? Robson - the current halfback that Carney is playing well with.

Not sure if this was mentioned but Mitchell Allgood is now on the bench for City.

Keith Galloway out injured, Bryce Gibbs to start at prop.
