16 back from Newtown, thats great news, I knew it must be more than 4. With all those players the Sydney Shield team might be strong enough to stop Wenty winning 10 years in a row.

And Brunton and Jackson at Wests. Cabra gives Wests a touch up in the trials and then a few weeks later they nab a few Cabra guys. They are not listed for Wests this week but Henry Iuta is. And Wenty has lost won of its A Graders, Merv Williamson cause he is in the Wests list too

Another one I forgot is Keith Heckenberg. I think he is playing for a team in Group 6.

Press releases from the NSWRL indicate that the NSW Cup match of the round will be broadcoast on Wednesday afternoons at 4:30 on Fox, whilst highlights from the NSW Cup and Bundy Cup will also be shown.

On another note, does anybody know if there will be any Sydney Shield fixtures to co-align with the Bundy Cup Pre Season Competition?

All of the preseason games are at Lidcombe. Warriors are looking to play junior trials before the Bundy games so no room for Sydney Shield

At this stage, Burwood's highest profile player is Hamilton Hughes. He did not play yesterday. There are a few other fijians, Kele Nuisere, who had a few games with the Bulls, Joe Uliibau (Tigers NYC), Manasa Vaudrev (Blacktown Rugby) and Junior Nuiquila all in the backline but it looks like most are just locals and they hope to receive a few leftovers from the Balmain Ryde Eastwood squad when the main comp starts.

Anyone got any details on who is playing for Blacktown, St Johns and Auburn?
It seems these new sides are going to need some recruitment from somewhere if they are going to be competative this season.

St johns have a few ex priemer league players , heka nanai the former bulldogs player.Blacktown have arana taumata. As there only high profile recruit . Auburn have recruited a few former cabra players. All those teams were without alot of there main players on the weekend .but I agree there is a big jump from the top 4 teams in the comp and the rest .

I've read Taumata has been re-signed by Penrith on a 2nd tier contract again. Can anyone confirm/deny?

If that is the case Blacktown will need to get some players from penrith or have some good recruitment otherwise it will be a long season for them.

Nearly all the Blacktown team are under 20. The exception is the prop, Scott Hardy, who played 1st grade for Wests 20 years ago.

The team listed on sunday was:

Jordon Horo, Zac Mackay, Jordon Solomon, Billy King, Gareth Jones, Jake Attard, Michael Ross, Justin Bell, Scott Hardy, Temati Rangi, Brad Cheshire, Jake Lewis.

The St Johns team looked like it was mainly their reggies but it appears that they will have Damien Mostyn, Chris Afamasaga, Arthur Little, Dean Loder, Holo Tonga and Aaron Grech.
