El Diablo . I still think it's a valid consideration. The name and how accurate the name is does matter in so far as widespread recognition for this "struggling" code. Perhaps you don't think the code is "struggling " compared to its older big ugly brother in rugby union? I do think it's struggling for international recognition. By not alluding to the name of the code in "rugby league " does not help rugby league's cause for easy and widespread recognition.
