Well that is the thing, though Tragic, they only halved the budget for certain players while others continue to be paid a very good wack so that budget will be the same as last season.
A complete ballsup when you have players getting paid a fortune and underperforming while the grit of the team get peanuts.
Think you'll find the whole player buget was halved and it will drop further next year

Penrith Brothers Vs Windsor Wolves
Nepean Rugby Park, Friday, July 9
Kick-off: 7.30pm
Referee: Matt Noyen

A real battle of the West here with fifth hosting fourth, however both sides head into this blockbuster off the back of losses. Brothers lost their third consecutive match last week as they went down to Wenty and the Wolves lost a close one at home to Mounties. Despite their recent form slump, Brothers Coach, Steve Antonelli has continued to stick solid at the selection table and he will hope that faith is repaid in kind this Friday. The Centre combination of Danny Chiha and Jesse Sene-Lefano is one of the best in the Bundaberg Red Cup and their opposite numbers will have their hands full trying to keep them quiet. Windsor’s overall recent form is probably better than that of their opponents so will have to tip them, but a Brothers win would certainly not surprise.
UNFORTUNATELY THE COACH HAS GOT TO STICK SOLID AS HE REALLY HAS NO ONE ELSE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN LACK OF DEPTH , PLAYERS HAPPY PLAYING A GRADE AND PLAYERS QUITTING , NO OTHER OPTIONS.

Big win from Campbelltown away from home this week. They are starting to really shape us as a Rugby League team. 4 in a row, a first for the club since coming into the competition

Poor old Cabra, that is just about curtains for them, 3 wins out of the top five with six to play amd most of the teams above them playing good footy.
What a shame after such a stellar season in 09.

Must agree with you Terry, what do you think is the major problem with them. And any smaller problems

Management, Management, Management.
It started with the debarkle over the Cronulla merger, that was never going to happen and they knew it but pressed on knowing they would be caught short.

Then they waivered over signing players and lost them all, that was very poor form and completely disrespectful to the players who got them to a grand final and it will be in the memory banks of the current players and any future prospective players and it will make it hard for them to attract decent players in the future.

They pay overs for some players and unders for local juniors because they have a belief that the players will remain loyal but underestimate the players who know the club is not going to be loyal to them.

They screwed around with the Sydney Shield and didnt enter a team to start with and lost more players as a result so one the whole, complete mismanagement.

They need to get rid of the old farts that are clinging to power and start fresh.

Wenty have moved into the top 5 for the first time this season by flogging the Entrance 38-12 today at Ringrose. It looked like it was going to be a complete shut out but the Tigers scored twice in the last few minutes after Wenty bombed a certain try at the other end.

Well that's the end of the road for Cabra now, another patchy parformance yesterday and typical of their season, they just dont have the right troops across the park to compete at that level or the right attitude.
What's worse is their Sydney Shield team is going well and some of those players deserve a shot over these last few rounds.
I hope all of the big wigs enjoyed their day behind the glass drinking free beer.

Wenty 44 Mounties 10
Entrance 42 Campbelltown 4

Points

Entrance 21 (+45)

Wenty have hit form at the right time. The effects of 3 tough close losses in a week took its toll on campbelltown while Brothers and Windsor picked up valuable points.

4 games to go.

I heard the Cabra board has just agreed to stay in for another year. Money will drop again next year which should lead to another long winter. And they are on the lookout for a new coach. Goodluck

Campbelltown are in the same boat as you guys at Cabra. The club barely supports them, and promote their local A Grade team as the premier side. The money going to players is minuscule, and the coaching staff get nothing, and even provide their own footies!

I don't know how clubs acting like this expect to be competitive, especially when you see the facilities/finances of some of the bigger clubs
